❖ Give journal entries in the books of Harsh.

July2023.
1. Harsh has commenced a business with a cash of Rs. 20,000, a loan of Rs. 12,000 from
Mayur, a furniture of Rs. 6,000, receivable from Jagruti Rs, 5,000 and a debt of Rs. 3,000 to
Nupur.
2. Purchased goods of 6,000 from Bijal Stores at 12% trade discount and 3 % cash discount if
the payment is made within 10 days.
3. Personal machiney worth Rs. 9,000 sold for Rs. 8,000 and out of this, cash of Rs. 4,000 was
brought in the business.
4. Sold goods of Rs. 10,000 at 10% trade discount to Mona on credit.
6. Goods of Rs. 600 were burnt by fire. Insurance company accepted a claim of Rs 480 and sold
salvage of goods for Rs. 30.
7. Opened a bank account in Bank of India, by depositing Rs. 10,000.
9. Half of the goods purchased from Bijal Stores , were sold to Sejal Stores at a price so as to
receive 25% profit on its cost price.Half the amount is paid in cash to Bijal Stores.
10. Withdrawn from Bank of Baroda, a cash of Rs. 500 for personal use and Rs.1,000 for shop
expense.
13.Remaining half of the goods purchased from Bijal Stores, were sold to Tejal Stores,at a price
so as receive 20% profit on its selling price.
14. Sold goods of Rs 10,000 to Poras so as to earn profit of 331/3% on selling price at 10% trade
discount and 10% cash discount, he gave cheque for half the amount.
15.A municipal tax bill of Rs. 700 is paid by cheque. Gave goods worth Rs. 500 to orphanage.
17.A machine of Rs. 4,000 is purchased from Kundan traders & paid installation charges of
Rs. 400 for the same.
20.Out of the goods sold to Sejal Stores, half the goods were returned by them and we have
returned the same to Bijal Stores.
22.Paid Rs. 800 for advertisement bill of Times of India. Purchased a balance and weights for
Rs.500.
27.Gave a cheque of Rs. 1,800 to Niki and settled her account at 10% cash discount.
29.Salary of Rs. 1,500, paid by cheque.
