What does a summer picnic day look like? You are planning a nice, relaxing day with

family and maybe a few friends. Deciding on what to bring is always a challenge, since there is

no fridge or easy way to store a huge meal. Does one bring just snacks or should there be more?

There isn’t one right answer on what to bring, but I have made a possible list of fan favorites and

foods that could be brought to a picnic/potluck/picnic potluck!

First, you will need to bring drinks. You will become parched if there is no drink to both

cool you down and to wash down all the food. Capri-Suns are a staple when thinking of a picnic.

There is no comparison to punching that straw through the pouch and drinking a fun combination

of fruit!

Next, you will need to bring paperware and silverware. While eating with your hands is

fun because there will be many different types of foods, having silverware is needed.

Next, the main course is necessary for maximum energy and to get you through the day.

A simple picnic might include a peanut butter, and jelly sandwich, or ham and cheese sandwich.

This is what many people think about when they think of going on a picnic. A bigger and fancier

picnic could include tortilla wraps (like sandwiches), chicken sandwiches, or even an egg

sandwich/salad.

A side dish is the next step to having a successful picnic. Having a fruit salad or just fruit

is a common, but great side dish for any picnic. Fruit is a great summer treat, so having

watermelon, strawberries, pineapple, or blueberries adds a great layer and excitement for the day.
Finally, get the dessert! Cookies are a favorite when it comes to any dessert, but these are

easy to carry, and store for a picnic. Chocolate chip, no bakes, or peanut butter are great dishes to

serve at a picnic.
