Taurus-Wesak Festival
The importance of the first three spiritual festivals of the year – Aries, Taurus and Gemini – can never be emphasised
enough. One must probe their significance however, to really experience them – through the reading of available
literature and meditation. Taurus marks the pinnacle of the spiritual year because it is when the spiritual Hierarchy on
Earth meet and connect with the aspirants and disciples of Their ashrams. Taurus is also the sign that rules the New
Group of World Servers (NGWS).
The Hierarchy or Masters of Wisdom gather to receive – literally, the “Word of God”, the new impulse that was
released in Aries – and transmit the annually amended Planetary Plan to Humanity, via their various subjective groups
of workers. All this is planned according to ray and astrological cycles, the constantly changing state of the world, and
co-operation with Humanity – who must be able to exercise its free will to determine destiny.

The opportunity at any full moon festival is to link and work subjectively in meditation with other co-workers and
groups around the planet; this takes place over five days – 2.5 days either side of the exact full moon time. The 24-
hour period before the exact time is the most potent period to make a contribution – and if possible the exact hour
and minute.
Taurus-Wesak is truly the highlight of the year because of the alignment

that takes place between Earth’s most exalted planetary guides – and
humanity. The triangle of Buddha, Christ and Sanat Kumara (in the etheric
and/or upon the physical plane), is linked by sacred ritual with the
assembled Masters of Wisdom; They in turn, are aligned with their
respective ray ashrams of human aspirants, disciples and initiates – poised
and ready to anchor the new impulse that was issued in the previous sign
of Aries.
Wesak is important because it is the only time of the year that the Buddha
re-connects with Earth – He is now almost liberated from His
responsibilities – but still serving an important role in this transition phase
between the zodiacal ages and the rootraces.
As the two main groups of Earth Chain and Moon Chain humanity further integrate, the Buddha’s role will be taken
over by his Brother who holds The Office of the Christ, marking a momentous event in planetary history – and that will
create ripples throughout the solar system.
Shamballa and the New Group of World Servers

Taurus is an unique period when the force of Shamballa is most present and potent. To many who seek spiritual
knowledge, the whole idea of Shamballa may be a little abstract. The challenge for aspiring mystics is to penetrate
into a deeper understanding of the true multi-dimensional structure of the world; this can be achieved through the
study of the science of occultism – meditating and reflecting upon this wisdom until it becomes “heart knowledge”.
In order to elaborate upon the function of aspirants and disciples who are members of the New Group of World Servers
(NGWS), it is necessary to go a little deeper into some esoteric facts about Shamballa, that mysterious centre, “where
the Will of God is known”. As in the diagram above, the three major planetary centres are Shamballa, Hierarchy and
Humanity, representing the crown, heart and throat centres respectively.
The New Group of World Servers (NGWS) is the bridging group that lies between Hierarchy and Humanity; it represents
the ajna centre, the “bull’s eye”, where all is illumined and through which Sanat Kumara “views” the world. Shamballa
is the home or “throne” of Sanat Kumara, the Lord of the World, the personality expression of our Planetary Logos
(“God”) – that Being whose consciousness utilises all planetary kingdoms as its body of expression.
This Being is our relatively local God, who has many relationships with other
“Gods”, within and beyond our solar system. Our Planetary Logos communes with
the other planets or Logoi, playing its part in the grand cosmic orchestra.
Through Taurus flows the fourth ray of Harmony through Conflict, also known as
the ray of art, beauty and music. This ray rules Humanity as a whole, but it also
rules the NGWS – the bridging group between Humanity and Hierarchy. The fourth
ray is a bridging ray and very soon it will come back into cyclic manifestation in
2025 – bringing many fourth ray souls into incarnation.
These fourth ray souls have been out of incarnation for some centuries, having
excelled themselves during the European Renaissance, and then later through all

the great musicians who incarnated via 4 ray soul Germany: Bach, Beethoven,

Brahms, Wagner, Handel, Liszt. (Mozart in Austria – a 4 ray personality, but he
worked in Germany.)
When these souls return, not only will there be new forms of art and music, but
some considerable harmonising brought to world affairs, creating peace and co-
operation between nations – in the true spirit of Aquarius!
Venus in Gemini (April 3 to August 7)

Venus is the ruler of Taurus, relating to the creation of beauty and
art – and esoterically about the acquisition of spiritual knowledge.
Hence the position of Venus at this Taurus full moon festival, will be
considerably qualified by Venus – our “sister planet”, the “higher
self” to Earth.
Venus has just entered the sign of Gemini which it esoterically rules,
staying there until August 7, 2020. Venus the goddess of
relationships in the sign of relationships in general – functions very
well here.
Gemini, as a sign of the “common” or mutable cross, finds something “in common” with others, through a dialogue
between two people (the Gemini twins); one twin speaks, the other listens and a dia-logue emerges that leads to
understanding and friendship.
Esoterically, Venus unites the pairs of opposites upon the mental plane, creating harmony, beauty and art, through
the transcendence of duality – the “twins” of love and hate, male-female, higher self-lower-self, soul-personality.
The only ray to pass through Gemini is the second ray of Love-Wisdom, hence Venus as the goddess of love finds
herself very much at home in this sign. Gemini rules the thymus, the endocrine gland associated with the heart centre
and love-wisdom. The thymus is the source of childhood naïveté and innocence – that many lose at a young age and
spend their adult lives trying to reclaim!
Due to Venus going retrograde, it will stay in this sign for an almost
unprecedented 16 weeks, until August 7 – spanning the height of the global
coronavirus crisis. Hence, here is an ideal opportunity for conducting better
relations – individual, local and planetary, for harmonious co-operation
between nations, instead of being driven by fear and bickering over
resources.
Particularly for Gemini nations like Britain (soul), the USA (personality) and
New Zealand (soul). In these ensuing months, advantage must be taken of
the Venus in Gemini themes – loving relations, global goodwill, détente and
peace.
As the pillars of Gemini are a “gateway” for the forces of Sirius that pass
into our solar system, Venus opens the gate for a direct cosmic alignment with Earth. Both Sirius and Venus are
associated with initiation. The effects will be dual, as ever are the effects of Gemini, let alone Sirius and Venus. Sirius
is the source of Love-Wisdom in our solar system – emanating from the cosmic mental plane, whilst Venus transmits
the force of mind – through mental understanding, love and compassion are generated.
Mercury, Esoteric Ruler of Aries (April 11-27)

The earlier section describes Venus’s entry into Gemini, and its great potential for right
human relations. Venus is the soul ruler of Gemini. Mercury is the personality ruler of Gemini
and entered its soul rulership of Aries – where it remained for two weeks, until April 27.
Hence, for two weeks both Venus and Mercury were in the signs of their esoteric rulerships,
moving into harmonious relation with one another – April 15-19, bolstering progressive ideas
and initiatives, the already potent position of Venus in Gemini – right human relations.
Mercury is the “messenger of the gods” and its close proximity to the Sun reflects its role as
messenger or intermediary to the other planets – literally or metaphorically understood.
“Mercury receives seven times more light than any other planet.”2
Both Mercury and Venus are “light bringers”, a phrase usually reserved for the second ray of
Love-Wisdom, the only ray to flow through Gemini – the sign that these two planets rule exoterically and esoterically.
Mercury is the ruler of the fourth ray of Harmony through Conflict (the major ray that rules Humanity as a whole),
hence is related to Aries’ exoteric ruler Mars – a “creator of conflict”:
“Mercury indicates that the line of least resistance for humanity is harmony through conflict, for Mercury expresses
the fourth ray energy which is buddhic, intuitional and expressive of the Christ.” .”3
As a sacred planet, and on the “even ray line” of Love-Wisdom (2,4,6)

Mercury is Hermes the Harmony part of the equation, whilst co-ruler Moon
represents Conflict created by the unconscious self, in this life and the
accumulations of many lives.
In its lower expression, Mercury is the cunning “trickster” and mental

intelligence (3rd ray), reflected by its exoteric rulership of Gemini and
Virgo; it has an association with the throat chakra, seat of the mental
body, but does not rule that centre per se. (Saturn does.)
“Mercury, being the Messenger of the Gods and the Agent of Their applied
control, is therefore the agent of the third aspect (active intelligence)
from one point of view, and of the second aspect (love-wisdom) from
another. He is regarded as embodying in himself both these aspects of the mental principle, the expression of the
concrete and the abstract mind of God.”4
The mind is of course where illusion is encountered (glamour upon the mental plane), and this why Mercury the divine
Messenger is regarded as the principle of illusion and the expression of the active higher mind. In an even higher
expression, Mercury is buddhi or intuition (direct knowledge), emanating from beyond the mental plane but utilising
the latter. Hence the Aries keynote: “I come forth from the plane of mind, I rule.” Buddhic consciousness is the
ultimate goal of human evolution.
“Mercury is the synthesis of manas-buddhi, mind-wisdom which expresses itself through the human soul; Mercury rules
the bridge or the antahkarana.”5
In its buddhic role, Mercury rules the right lobe of the Ajna or brow
chakra, whilst Venus rules the left lobe (mind). Hence this current cycle
of two weeks affords an opportunity to reach balance in the ajna,
personally, collectively, even nationally and globally. Each new annual
cycle in Aries reminds us of a very distant Mercurial goal:
“When Mercury, the divine Messenger, the principle of illusion and the
expression of the active higher mind, has performed his mission and
“led humanity into the light” – and the Christ-child out of the womb of
time and of the flesh, into the light of day and of manifestation, then
the task of that great centre we call humanity will be accomplished.”6
There are several “4’s” associated with Mercury: Associated with the

4 cosmic path to Sirius. The 4 kingdom, the human. Fully realised

buddhic consciousness – the 4 initiation. Ruler of the 4 ray:
“Mercury, embodying the energy of the fourth ray, eventually carries

the man around the wheel of life and through the medium of conflict
enables him to achieve harmony. Mercury illumines the mind and
mediates between the soul and the personality, being the Messenger of
the Gods.
Mercury and Venus.
This mediatorship, in the first instance, produces an inevitable

opposition between the pairs of opposites and a long drawn out conflict. This conflict finally works out into victory and
the dispelling of illusion through the illumination of the lower mind.”7
Roll on – Mercury in Aries into Taurus!
Mercury in Taurus: Vulcan (April 27 – May 11)

From the exoteric perspective, Mercury in this sign generates thoughts that are influenced by
practical, financial or material themes. A shrewd business mind and also a photographic memory –
might be slow and ponderous to on the uptake or form opinions, but retain a lot of what they
absorbed. Opinionated, fixed ideas. Great powers of concentration. Thoughts can be influenced by
strong emotional or sexual desires. Stubborn and mentally blind to some ideas. Artistic and
creative, mathematical.
Yet esoterically, and as ruler of the fourth ray of Harmony through Conflict (the
only ray to pass through Taurus) – Mercury has a deep affinity with this sign of
the Buddha. Mercury is the Messenger – as was the Buddha. Buddhi is intuition and corresponds to
the 4th buddhic plane.
Intuition supersedes the mind and all other senses – it is the goal of Humanity. Mercury is part of
the “eye of the bull” (Taurus) – through its dual rulership of the ajna centre, as described in the
previous section. Indeed, even the symbol for Mercury incorporates the glyph of Taurus!
The metal mercury or quicksilver is to coat glass, creating a mirror. Mercury is the mirror – witness the mimicry of
Mercury-ruled Gemini. The unstable and “slippery” nature of the element mercury also says a lot about Gemini.
Mercury is a reflector of light – in fact, “Mercury receives seven times more light than any other planet.”8
Yet Mercury is also associated with Taurus through the soul ruler of this sign, Vulcan –
believed to be within the orbit of Mercury.9 The Tibetan also tells us somewhat
enigmatically,
“The light of Vulcan and the light of the Sun are one light and these three—Mercury,
Vulcan and the Sun—stand for a synthesis and a radiance which eventually dims the light
of Mercury and it “falls” into the background and Vulcan too becomes invisible and only
the Sun remains.”10
Mercury mirrors that which is above – to that which is below, the Messenger from the
plane of pure spirit or Adi, to the gross physical plane. Hence, the relation between the
Mercury-ruled fourth ray, earthy Taurus – the “mother of illumination” and Vulcan.
Liquid mercury. “… the task of Mercury in connection with humanity

has gone forward most satisfactorily and has
brought humanity to its present point of evolution upon the probationary path;
that the energy of Vulcan is potently making its presence felt, and hence the
struggles going on upon the planet between the men of will—selfish and
ambitious—and the men of good-will who are desirous of the good of the
whole.”11
These “struggles” relate to the great duality within which Humanity finds itself.
Indeed, the Buddha gained illumination through the many struggles to which he
subjected himself. These dualities are expressed powerfully through the fourth
ray – via the extremes of the valley and mountain, ecstasy and depression,
black and white, feast or fast, beauty and ugliness, war and peace.
Mercury is also the hierarchical ruler of Taurus polar opposite Scorpio – which also has only the fourth ray passing
through it. Scorpio is known as the “human hierarchy”, or “The Initiates” that we will eventually become.
Taurus: Beauty, Art and Music

There is much that could be written about this subject, so just a few tidbits here. Music
is an universal language and sound conveys the indefinable but recognisable. Reflect
upon the relationship between that which perceives the sound (ears) and then expresses
it (throat, mouth, tongue) – all ruled by Taurus. The science of sound will be one of the
major sciences emerging in the coming Aquarian Age.
Hence the relationship between Taurus and music – that is qualified by the fact that the
only ray to pour through Taurus is the fourth ray of art, beauty and music (a.k.a. the ray
of Harmony through Conflict). The fourth ray is also the ray that rules Humanity as a
whole, hence music as the universal language.
Taureans profit from singing – in the shower, a choir or sound-toning. Singing liberates
the astral body and sounding correct notes has not only a purificatory effect (as in mantras) – but the capacity to
bring about alignment with the soul. Many singers have Taurus prominent in their horoscopes – they express beauty
(Ray 4), harmony (Venus) and emotion, enriching all: Enya, Dame Nellie Melba, Barbara Streisand, Liza Minelli, Ella
Fitzgerald, Roy Orbison, Dionne Warwick and Diana Ross.
Whether singing or making a verbal presentation – the physical throat is

employed to bring about fundamental changes through “directed and
motivated” speech. The throat chakra is the vehicle through which the
mental body creates. The organs of speech employ language to “clothe
thought” and the “word is made flesh” – thought is brought into form.
Hence the sacredness of language and right speech for the world aspirant
– the aspiring Taurean upon the upward way. One of Taurean Buddha’s
precepts of the eight-fold noble path is “right speech”.
Consider also the sublime music of Wagner with Taurus rising – Venus and Mercury placed there too. The divine sound
(called Nada Brahma by the Hindus) – that allowed him to penetrate into the realm of Buddha – the buddhic realm;
beauty is born (or borne) by the Divine Hermaphrodite (Mercury-Venus). Brahms, David Helfgot and Peter Sculthorpe
are other musicians and composers who have the sun in Taurus.

April 24 is the solar return of Estas Tonne, gypsy troubadour and classical guitar virtuoso. Note the Sun opposite
Uranus in Scorpio, a source of his passionate playing style. Birth time is unknown, but Leo or Sagittarius are good
contenders for a rising sign.

energy of the sacral centre must be lifted so that creation through love and by the will

processes whereby the disciple must bring about certain basic

Pluto-Jupiter: Spiritual Opportunity for Humanity in 2020

The Pluto-Jupiter conjunctions for 2020 follow on from the major Pluto-Saturn
conjunction of January 2020 – the once-in-a-500-year seed point that was the
“cause” of the coronavirus epidemic and the global transformation that is now
unfolding.
The world is now seeing the effects of this rare Pluto-Saturn event in the
coronavirus epidemic that was announced by China – just a couple of weeks

That event indicates the massive reformation now taking place – where the
system.
power structure of the status quo has reached its ultimate point of
crystallisation, its inevitable shattering, yet is desperately trying to implement
measures to consolidate power and control. In fact, their attempts at control may have started the epidemic.
Therefore, 2020 may be a year of greater pain, drama and transformation for
Humanity. Following successful shattering of these old forms, radical changes
are on the horizon – symbolised by Saturn and Jupiter entering Aquarius
together at Christmas 2020.
In the interim – the 2020 Pluto-Jupiter conjunctions of April 4, June 30 and

Nov.12 – span the year, supercharging the Pluto-Saturn conjunction of Jan.
12. These Pluto-Saturn/Pluto-Jupiter conjunctions are only 1° from one
another – meaning that in 2020, transiting Pluto-Jupiter will activate the
Jan.12 seed point several times.
Pluto
With the Pluto-Saturn conjunction – Pluto is the ruler of the first ray of will-
power, one of the rays to pour through Capricorn. Pluto is the force that is shattering Capricorn crystallisation. Saturn
is the lord of karma, ruling the mind, dragging humanity to its karmic reckoning:
“Saturn can be regarded as the planetary Dweller on the Threshold, for humanity as a whole has to face that Dweller
as well as the Angel of the Presence, and in so doing discover that both the Dweller and the Angel are that complex
duality which is the human family.”13
With the Pluto-Jupiter conjunction – Now that Humanity’s Dweller is well and
truly unleashed, the Pluto-Jupiter conjunctions will stimulate healing and
rebuilding possibilities. Jupiter is the ruler of the second ray of Love-Wisdom, the
major ray conditioning Humanity as a whole; it is the most common ray for most
souls and is the soul ray of Britain, USA and some other nations.
Hence, Pluto destruction will pave the way for a flow of Jupiter’s compassion and
love-wisdom. Jupiter can also magnify negative effects, being extraordinarily
materialistic in Capricorn – “falling” in this sign,
“… gives the fulfilment of desire and satisfied demand …[or] … the outgoing
expression of love, which attracts magnetically to itself that which is desired—
this time the good of the whole. In Capricorn … Jupiter reaches its lowest point
of expression in the densest material aspect, and then—as love and selflessness
triumph—this lowest aspect vanishes and disappears.”14
In 2020, the “fulfillment of desire and satisfied demand” may be the point
of least resistance for the fearful masses experiencing loss of jobs, income,
housing, freedom to move about etc. And also of course, for
business/money/corporations/governments scrambling to simply survive
and/or selfishly exploiting the situation.
Yet personal reflection enforced by circumstances may lead millions to

choose an “outgoing expression of love”, thereby “attracting magnetically
that which is desired … for the good of the whole”. Jupiter’s passage into
Aquarius with Saturn in Dec.2020 will bring a test to see if these big
corporations can radically reverse their hitherto selfish attitudes and
become group water-bearers and world servers.
Global Economic Crisis

Capricorn is one of the main signs of money and capital because it – and opposite sign Cancer, are about the
management of resources. As an earth sign, Capricorn is profoundly “linked to the mineral kingdom, money and the
concrete expression of the Law of Supply.”15
The two rays mainly associated with money and its organisation (finance) are
respectively the third ray of active-intelligence and the seventh ray of Organisation or
magic – two of the main rays that pour through the Capricorn-Cancer axis. The world
is dominated by many money “magicians” today – black, white and various shades of
grey!
The Jupiter-Pluto cycle is approximately 12.5 years, occurring most recently before
2020 in Dec. 2007 – at the beginning of the 2008 financial crash. Other notable
cycles were 1918 at the end of WWI, preceding the Spanish flu epidemic – and 1931,
in the middle of the Depression era bought on by the financial crash of 1929. Pluto
was discovered in 1930 and transiting Uranus was very active in Taurus at that time –
as it is now, promising a financial revolution.
Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions are associated with financial crashes, but are not the sole
astrological factor. Cycles of Saturn in Sagittarius for instance, have been
demonstrated to coincide with financial bust. Nevertheless, Pluto is associated with
the abundant riches of the Earth and Jupiter with largesse and wealth. The
combination of both planets can create an undermining of wealth, leading to a transformation of financial systems.
Already during this crisis, governments and high profile politicians are declaring the age of neoliberalism dead, a flat
wage for whole nations and many other ways of rethinking money. The passage of Uranus through Taurus from 2018-
2025, also promises to contribute to a resetting of the financial system.
As noted in recent newsletters, many financial pundits have been saying that 2020 could see the “big one”
(recession/depression) and that time appears to have arrived. Jupiter and Pluto can stimulate extreme ambition for
power and control – though Saturn’s presence, shifting back and forth from Aquarius into Capricorn, will qualify
ambitions – by limiting money and material resources.
Humanity will be forced through this crisis to revise its needs versus wants, to
essentialise and let go of the superfluous and superficial – not just economically, but
upon all levels. Already many are being overwhelmed not simply by the virus or fear of
the virus – but the prospect of economic ruin, financial hardship, unemployment queues
etc.
As Pluto reveals what is emerging from the depths of the collective unconscious, and
sets about destroying/transforming, Jupiter brings in a rejuvenating, protective
influence that creates new seeds for the future. Jupiter also magnifies dramatically
what Pluto uncovers, leading to shocking revelations from the underworld, or major
world-changing events, discoveries, inspirational revelations – or all of those things!

Pluto’s underworld includes very powerful groups who work behind the scenes, the
black market, terrorism, pandemics etc. Think gangsterism of the 1930’s, illegal alcohol, the Great Depression, the rise
of fascism etc: A Jupiter-Pluto cycle can signal an intense period of trials and tribulations, leading to initiation. Plutonic
power can be used selfishly or altruistically – the former is the default for most of undeveloped Humanity.
2020 may see some mighty power struggles between those who exert selfish,
authoritarian control, and those who wish to liberate humanity from the insidious
cartels and cabals that have kept a stranglehold on this planet for centuries.
That is why 2020 could be Humanity’s Waterloo (“a final defeat or setback”) –
unless millions fight strenuously to maintain their rights or demonstrate in the
streets; to discriminate through the many competing propagandas and not be
swayed unduly.
There may be a global or national standoffs/resistances between those who embrace

the new Aquarian principles of which Jupiter is the esoteric ruler, versus those who
still cling to the crystallised outworn attitudes.
There may be an exacerbation of authoritarian, dominating or predatory trends in all nations – with general populaces
falling prey to the glamour of authority and media. The opposite pole is a people’s rebellion/disobedience against
those institutions or governments trying to exert too much control.
USA and the Approaching Recession

USA is extraordinarily impacted by these conjunctions for 2020, leading up to its first ever Pluto return in 2022 –
which occurs every 248 years. USA has Mercury in Cancer opposite Pluto, but because Mercury is in earlier degrees
than Pluto, their opposition is being activated now, ahead of Pluto’s actual return. (Feb.20, 2022 to Dec.28, 2022.) In
Destiny of the Races and Nations I (2005), the author examines Mercury opposite Pluto:
“Mercury … is placed in Cancer, retrograde, where it can be most elusive,

diffuse and cunning. With the opposition to Pluto, there can be subversive
communication, as well as devious manipulation. As Pluto rules the twelfth
house of secrets, this opposition can refer to secret government agencies …
It also refers to mass conditioning and propaganda through the media or
these agencies.
Mercury in Cancer can let the emotions cloud clear thought, but also be
illumined and receptive to higher intuition. As with all the Cancer placements,
there needs to be a willingness to continually release the past, (glories and
mistakes alike), as it only reinforces the shadow of the nation … Mercury opposite Pluto can make for a very
persuasive argument and at its extreme, bring much force and pressure upon others to conform.
One of the worst themes of Pluto in the second house are the enormous financial institutions and corporations that
have selfishly cornered much of the nation’s wealth, with the Cancerian tendency to hoard and hold onto. This intense
materialisation inherent in the Capricorn-Cancer axis, is a major challenge for this nation to transcend.
On the other hand, Mercury opposite Pluto can give great insight and probing
into the unseen and subtle realms, hence an ideal aspect for those pioneering
the intuitive sciences. Mercury in Cancer is highly imaginative and creative,
cultivating a fertile bed for the reflection of the intuitive consciousness.
… Another factor related to USA’s Mercury opposite Pluto … is a major calling

to account of clandestine agencies … Mercury-Pluto can be extremely
persuasive and … can serve the manipulators of the truth – whether they are politicians or their sometime tools, the

Therefore, 2020 will witness USA’s Mercury-Pluto opposition activated by transiting Pluto and Jupiter. Pluto may
reveal darker themes from USA’s underworld, the shadow that must be met, confronted and vanquished; a shadow
that has been created since the nation’s inception, built upon for 248 years and now embodied in its current
president.
The USA anchors the Western world shadow in many ways, hence this
Aquarius soul nation will be one of the main if not the major arena
where the battle will be fought between the old Piscean materialistic
ways and the emerging paradigm of Aquarius.
The Pluto-ruled first ray is the Destroyer, whilst the Jupiter-ruled

second ray is the Builder; whilst one destroys, the other re-builds –
nature abhors a vacuum. Here is the higher potential of Jupiter to
build a better world. The shadow side however, has already been
enumerated – Jupiter can magnify and exaggerate the status quo in
its lower expression. A fellow astrologer comments: His Shadow (Nicholas Roerich) A different
kind of shadow that is looming larger!
“What would appear to be an attempt to safeguard the greater good
and to express the benign face of Capricorn as responsible
stewardship, governments around the world have gone overboard and completely usurped the power of the people to
think for themselves.
This is a manifestation of the patriarchal, dominating, and ruling tendency inherent

in the executive and leadership-oriented sign of Capricorn, and one which flies in
the face of the values of the Aquarian Age, during which time it is the objective for
Humanity to learn the uses of the mental body, to experience mental freedom, and
to exercise the right to think independently of mental pressure from crushing
external forces such as governmental propaganda and the dominant scientific
paradigm, both of which are deeply enmeshed with vested business interests –
another dark face of Capricornian tendency.17
Indeed, and millions are questioning these dominating patriarchal attitudes – a

“creeping authoritarianism” – as Australia’s human rights commissioner, Edward
Santow explains:
“Our community has come together, making big and small sacrifices for the greater good. But there can be a dark
side. Our willingness to accept sacrifice leaves us vulnerable to the insidious threat of creeping authoritarianism. Each
restriction must be reasonable, necessary and proportionate to the threat. Some countries are spying on their citizens
to enforce quarantine laws, or even welding some residents in their homes to stop the spread of the virus. Other
countries have suspended the usual democratic protections, and are ruling by decree.
There are growing calls for more extreme measures in Australia. For example,
new technology can enable surveillance upon an unprecedented scale, using
everything from CCTV to our mobile phone data [tracking apps]. Artificial
intelligence can be used to automate the enforcement process for anyone
breaching the rules.”18
Likewise, UN Director-General, Antonio Guterres said recently:
“We see the disgusting effects on some communities, the rise of hate speech,
the targeting of vulnerable groups, and the risks of heavy security responses
while reducing health response. Against the backdrop of growing ethics-
nationalism, a push against populism, totalitarianism, and human rights in some
countries may provide an excuse for the crisis epidemic to adopt repressive
measures for purposes unrelated,” he said. “this is unacceptable.”19
The previous astrological commentator continues on the Pluto-Jupiter theme:
“The fact that draconian authoritarian measures are coming into play just at the
same time as the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction forms is the evidence that indeed,
this particular astrological influence is the driver of the current trend toward authoritarian solutions for the present
crisis.
Jupiter as the largest planet in the solar system connotes that which is big, abundant, excessive, monumental even.
Pluto as the god of the underworld connotes power derived from within the Earth itself as the material globe holding
incarnate spirits in form as well as ancient acts and karmas buried long ago in the archaic past, but residing even
today in the hidden inner worlds of karma and planetary destiny.
This fact is both good and bad, both hopeful and disturbing, because the
Jupiter-Pluto conjunction presents power that can be used for good on the
one hand, or for ill on the other. Some may view the restrictions on travel
and social interactions as primarily good, limiting the potential contagion
factor and simultaneously reducing air and water pollution. This is some of
the good which the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction may bring.
Yet, there remains the nagging problem of the serious sacrifices of personal
liberty and constitutional principles arising at the same time. Many ask how
much must be relinquished to governmental authority in the name of the survival of the species.”20
Uranus in Taurus Square Saturn in Aquarius: A Revolution in Consciousness and Money
Uranus in Taurus
The Taurus new moon on April 23 – planted the seed for the following full moon period of Taurus on May 7. As the
“mother of illumination”, Taurus sheds light upon our current situation, aided at the new moon by a conjunction to
Uranus, the revolutionary:
“Uranus, therefore, initiates a new order of life and conditions and this—when developed in the life of the disciple—in
its turn produces an understanding of the causes of things as they are, and the desire to change the old order and the
old orientation into the new.”21

The main configuration in the new moon chart is the sun, moon and Uranus in Taurus, all square to Saturn in Aquarius
– the sign that Uranus rules. This dynamic point of tension at the new moon fostered a radical break away from
tradition (Saturn) – by the revolutionary forces of Uranus, utilising the progressive energies of Aquarius.
Uranus and Taurus are both connected to money, hence a major revolution in the financial system can certainly be
brought about while it remains in this sign until 2025; not only money but the cultivation of a better global system of
human values.
“The golden eye of Taurus points the way to those who likewise see. That
which is gold will some day, too, respond, passing from East to West in
that dire time when the urge to gather gold shall rule the lower half (i.e.,
the personality aspect of men and of nations—A.A.B.).
The search for gold, the search for golden light divine, directs the Bull of
Life, the Bull of Form. These two must meet; and meeting, clash. Thus
vanishes the gold….”22
The innocent child confronts the bull
of materialism. (Wall St.) Jailed embezzler, Bernie Madoff – with five placements in Taurus, is a
shocking example of how, “the urge to gather gold shall rule the lower
half”. The Uranian new moon of April 23 may well kickstart the process of
financial reform, especially now that the price of oil has plummeted to an historic low, airlines and other big companies
are going bankrupt, millions are out of work and losing business etc.
Leo rising Richard Branson’s glory days may be over, as Virgin Airlines (his
moon is in Virgo) – struggles to stay in business. Branson is demanding
government subsidies but refuses to dip into his billions. His Cancer sun
(the hoarder) is being opposed by all the Capricorn planets 2020-1, that
may well topple him from his throne.
“Uranus … the seventh ray works through this planet and is the
embodiment of the principle of concretion and the materialising of that
which is in need of objective manifestation, through the bringing together
of spirit and matter. It is here that the whole mystery of money lies hid
and the creation and production of money … It is through the relation of
the three aspects of the third divine manifestation—law, affinity and
concretised energy—that money is created.”23
Uranus, the planet of the scientific mind, “falls” in Taurus, “the mother of Glamour days …
illumination”:
“Uranus, the planet of the hidden mystery and one of the most occult of
the planets “falls” in this sign, producing the accentuation and the sharp
division between body and soul which is so marked a characteristic of the
Taurian subject. It prepares the inner [wo]man for the sharp interplay and
conflict …
… The task of Uranus, hidden in the depths, is to awaken and evoke the
intuitive response of Taurus to an ever-increasing light until such time
that full illumination is achieved and also the development of the spiritual
consciousness —substituting these higher soul aspects for the lower form
reactions.”24
Those “hidden depths” are Tartarus, the darkest place in Hades or hell,
the domain of Pluto ruling the opposite sign Scorpio. In the myth, Uranus
Mithraic mysteries of initiation … imprisoned Gaia’s (Earth) youngest children in Tartarus, deep within
Earth, where they caused pain to Gaia. Hence, Uranus rules the hidden
Mystery Teachings that lead from the darkness of ignorance, releasing
from Humanity’s self-created hell.
And Taurus is the “mother of illumination”, where the acquisitive nature of Taurus – via its ruler Venus (ruler of the
fifth ray of science or mind), pours light into the deepest shadows; this is brought about by acquired knowledge
transformed into wisdom/intuition, through the application of that knowledge in every day life experience. Taurus is
acquisitive at the level of material wealth and also its higher correspondence – the riches of spiritual knowledge.
Prince Siddhartha Gautama who became Lord Buddha.
When Taurus is awoken by Uranus, “to an ever-increasing light”, the result is a Buddha who has achieved “full
illumination”. The Wesak festival is dedicated to the Buddha – the One who incarnated, became illuminated and passed
– in the sign of Taurus.
Uranus is also a planet associated with earthquakes and sudden disruptions. Uranus in Taurus particularly evokes the
hidden depths of the Earth, symbolised by the giant caverns in Tartarus – 2020 may see increased activity.
Taurus has many characteristics similar to the third ray of active-

intelligence, one of whose symbols is the labyrinth, the Minotaur’s
maze, reflecting the tortuous twists, turns and complexities of the
ramifying mind. The Minotaur is a mythical creature – with the body of
a man and head of a bull, reflecting man’s animal nature, still not fully
“human”.
Hence the minotaur represents the shadow or “dweller in the

labyrinth”, the untamed mind combined with desire of the bull –
becomes a “monster”. The minotaur’s maze is a labyrinth of intellectual
circuits and knowledge – in which seekers can become lost, devoured or
dominated by their own thoughtforms.
The Minotaur’s maze also describes where Humanity is today, trying to

discern the state of the world and thereby developing an expanded
awareness, emerging from the “hall of ignorance” into the “hall of Picasso’s Minotaur emerging from the
learning” and passing through a mass initiation. underground labyrinth.
Saturn rules the first decanate of Aquarius

“During the Aquarian age and during one third of its expression, that is, during the first decanate, esoterically
considered, the vitalising of the human centre (spiritually considered) and in relation to the Plan and the steady
growth of widespread creative activity, both in the individual and the race, will be increasingly seen.
This will be due to the work and influence of Saturn, which is governed by the third
ray. This is the planet of opportunity, of discipleship and of testing – and the race
can look for an increasing expression of Saturnian activity as that great divine Life
continues His beneficent task.”25
The Age of Aquarius begins in 2,117 (esoterically and astronomically), less than
one hundred years away – hence its close proximity is felt during this cuspal period
– by those who aspire to Aquarian ideals and progressive thinking:
“Prior to the present time, only a few pioneering disciples and a handful of
intelligent people could be regarded as freely choosing at the “point of balance” the
Saturn way that they intend “to tip the scales.” Today, there are countless numbers and
hence the intense activity of Saturn as we enter into the first decan of Aquarius
and hence the same activity because humanity itself now stands upon the probationary path.”26
Those “countless numbers” are currently being stimulated and woken up in their millions, due to this planetary
pandemic. A mass “reversal of the wheel” is taking place, closely preceding the first initiation – the awakening of the
soul within. Saturn’s rulership of the first 10° sub-section of Aquarius (decanate) – is profoundly instructive for what is
unfolding in the world today – as transiting Saturn enters this sign for the first time in thirty years:
“Saturn is the planet of discipleship and of opportunity; it is exceedingly

active today, presenting to the world disciple those difficult situations and
crises which will involve free choice, discriminative pioneering, wise response
and correct decision, thus bringing about the destruction of that which
hinders – without the relinquishing of any true values of which humanity may
be aware.
The individual disciple has always been faced with these conditioning and
releasing circumstances, and today humanity itself is in the same position.
We stand at the gateway of the new world, of the new age and its new
civilizations, ideals and culture. Saturn, having offered opportunity and
proffered us a choice to bring about the needed changes and to destroy that
which holds back the free expression of the soul.”27
The opportunity is now, “involving free choice, discriminative pioneering, wise response and correct decision” –
especially in the light of personal freedoms and totalitarian governments. Hence, the mental conflict and difficulty in
discriminating global events and making right choices:
“As the result of this unfoldment, conflict supervenes and Saturn offers opportunity to suffer and, through suffering,
to learn to choose rightly, to analyse correctly and to decide upon the higher values … for the first time in its history,
humanity is beginning to mount the Fixed Cross of the disciple, thus reversing its progress upon the circle of the
Zodiac. Humanity—as a whole and owing to the large proportion of aspirants and thinking idealists—is entering
Aquarius, via the open door of Saturn.”28
Confucius the Fair (Nicholas Roerich) “A Member of the Lodge, Confucius … will incarnate in order
to superintend the work.”29
As the Aquarian Age draws near, Humanity is far more conscious than it was thirty years ago (1990) – when Saturn
was last in Aquarius. This current Saturn cycle is truly one of great opportunity, that will be aided by the ingress of
Jupiter into this sign, pairing up with Saturn on Dec.20, 2020:
“The activity of Saturn, producing a dividing of the ways and a proffering of

opportunity to those who can avail themselves of it. We shall have,
therefore, a period of discipline and a cycle wherein choices will be made,
and through these discriminating decisions humanity will enter into its
birthright. This influence is now being strongly felt.
The work of the first decanate [of Aquarius] will enable many to make those
choices and efforts which will enable them to raise the lower energies into
the higher centres, and to transfer the focus of their attention from below
to above the diaphragm [preceding the first initiation].”30
Saturn and Money

Saturn is the ruler of the third ray of active-intelligence – the major ray of
money and the only ray to pour through Libra, the main sign of money, ruled
by Uranus esoterically – and where Saturn is exalted. Aquarius is a distributor of energies flowing freely and shared
through the body of humanity. Note, Taurus and Libra are two Venus-ruled signs connected to money. Venus as the
ruler of the fifth ray, has a materialising influence, hence its hierarchical rulership of Capricorn, the materialising sign
par excellence.
Hence, Saturn’s position in Aquarius will certainly stimulate that flow, complementing the earlier passage describing
the relation of Uranus to money. And of course, the whole thrust of this article, discussing the Taurus new moon-
Uranus conjunction – square to Saturn in Aquarius. The first ashram to externalise before/after 2025 will be the third
ray ashram – those souls who are money experts:
“Groups of spiritually-minded financiers who are conscious members of an Ashram will

take hold of the world economic situation and bring about great and needed changes …
The first Ashram to do so will be that of the third ray; by the time disciples appear from
that Ashram, the world will be ready for an all-over financial adjustment; the “principle
of sharing” will be a recognised motivating concept of the new civilisation.
This will not involve beautiful, sweet and humanitarian attitudes. The world will still be
full of selfish and self-seeking people, but public opinion will be such that certain
fundamental ideals will motivate business, being forced upon business by public opinion;
the fact that the new general ideas will in many cases be governed by the expediency of
Terrence Stamp in the

young in the experience of incarnation, and the multitudes who evade thought
even when they are capable of it, lie in the hands of two vast and dominant groups: the totalitarians and the

It is most probable that “those who stand for the freedom of the human soul”
are not in “equal force” with the totalitarians today, because of the
domination of the “1%” – predatory corporations and banks making huge
profits, not paying their fair share of taxes etc.
But also because Humanity continues to indulge in the purchasing of luxury

goods and unnecessary items in the over-saturated retail markets of the
world. The Covid-19 “intervention” has put a temporary brake upon spending,
but when lockdown finishes, will it be business as usual for the 1% and 99%
alike?
Uranus in Taurus square Saturn in Aquarius might finally turn the tide –
these two planets will remain in square to one another – on and off until the
end of 2022. The following passages illustrate the incubus of money that is
strangling Humanity – and how this period is a major opportunity to break the cycle.
In some ways, the current crisis is not so much Covid-19 as much as a radical reform
of the financial system, for which Covid has been a catalyst. The following passage has
been used many times in these newsletters and it never hurts to repeat it, to remind
us how much worse the situation has become since these words were first written
about 80 years ago. Big business has become far more finessed, sophisticated and
invisible in the way it operates:

The above is a terrible indictment. It can, however, be substantiated a thousand

times over; it is breeding revolution and a growing spirit of unrest. The masses of
the people in every land are aroused and awakening and a new day is dawning. A

does not spare the rod in his harsh, but realistic assessment of these groups – and for how long they have been
around:
“First of all, it must be recognized that the cause of all world unrest, of the
world wars which have wrecked humanity and the widespread misery
upon our planet can largely be attributed to a selfish group with materialistic
purposes who have for centuries exploited the masses and used the labour
of mankind for their selfish endsends.
From the feudal barons of Europe and Great Britain in the Middle Ages through
the powerful business groups of the Victorian era to the handful of capitalists—
national and international—who today control the world’s resources, the
capitalistic system has emerged and has wrecked the world.
This group of capitalists has cornered and exploited the world’s resources

Yet, The Tibetan continues along the same theme in a more optimistic vein around the late 1940’s:

vested interests, the big cartels, trusts and monopolies that controlled the past

provided humanity governs its decisions during the next fifty years by the idea of the greatest good to the greatest
number.
World decisions must therefore, in the future, be based upon a steady

determination to further right human relations and to prevent selfish control,
financial or ecclesiastical, by any group of men, anywhere, in any country. We
believe the determination of Great Britain, the United States, and Canada, who
are in possession of the secrets, is along these lines.”34
Now, eight decades on, the situation has become unbearably worse – the
watching Masters of Wisdom must be beside themselves as spectators to this
appalling global situation. Gains made for workers rights via the trade unions
movement in the past century have been rolled back to almost non-existence.
The balance between capital and labour is vastly skewed, reflected by the fact
that the “1%” controls the majority of the world’s wealth – and seeks not to

A tlas Comet (C2019)

Comet Atlas was “discovered” on Dec.28, 2019 and has since broken up on
April 2, 2020 – dashing astronomers’ expectations for a closer up view in this
solar system.
Comets make regular appearances and it has been said that Avatars “hitch
rides” on comets, which are dynamic living beings. H.P. Blavatsky makes
some observations on comets in The Secret Doctrine:
“The planets were all comets and suns in their origin – the sons of light
clothed themselves in the fabric of darkness. They all have a common origin.
Centres of Forces at first, the invisible sparks of primordial atoms
differentiate into molecules, and become Suns—passing gradually into
objectivity—gaseous, radiant, cosmic, the one “Whirlwind” (or motion) finally
giving the impulse to the form, and the initial motion, regulated and sustained by the never-resting Breaths—the
Dhyan Chohans.
The assertion that all the worlds (Stars, planets, etc.) … become first comets
comets, and then
Suns to cool down to inhabitable worlds, is a teaching as old as the Rishis. The birth of the
celestial bodies in Space is compared to a crowd or multitude of “pilgrims” at the festival of
the “Fires.” Seven ascetics appear on the threshold of the temple with seven lighted sticks
of incense.
At the light of these the first row of pilgrims light their incense sticks. After which every
ascetic begins whirling his stick around his head in space, and furnishes the rest with fire.
Thus with the heavenly bodies.
A laya-centre is lighted and awakened into life by the fires of another “pilgrim,” after which the new “centre” rushes
into space and becomes a comet
comet. It is only after losing its velocity, and hence its fiery tail, that the “Fiery Dragon”
settles down into quiet and steady life as a regular respectable citizen of the sidereal family.[!] Many perish, devoured
by their stronger companions. Those that escape become worlds.”35
Like the appearance of other comets in history, the appearance of Atlas is being read by some as an omen,
representing the unprecedented global coronavirus epidemic; perhaps its breakup will also reflect the dispersal of the
virus – and/or the confusion around it.
Atlas was discovered on Dec.28, 2019 – just a few days before the Chinese
government made their announcement about the virus on New Year’s day 2020. A
fiery comet messenger has emerged from other worlds, visible to this solar system.
Its naming is interesting from two perspectives – Atlas and C2019, the latter
resembling somewhat the name of Covid-19.
Atlas is a well known mythological figure who strains and struggles with the world
upon his shoulders – a somewhat Saturnian symbol of discipline, strength and taking
responsibility for the whole. The superior wisdom of Atlas is also said to rule over
astronomy and mathematics.
Atlas is quite a stoic first ray figure who could be easily equated with Vulcan, the
soul ruler of Taurus. Esoterically Atlas is a symbol of Atlantis – as father to the seven “daughters” of the Pleiades, an
allegory for the seven subraces of Atlantis:
“The truth is that Atlas, “the mountain of the gods,” and also the hero of that name, are the esoteric symbols of the
Fourth Race, and his seven daughters, the Atlantides, are the symbols of its Seven Sub-races.
Mount Atlas, symbolising the proud race, learned in magic and high in arts
and civilization, whose last remnant was destroyed almost at the foot of the
range of those once gigantic mountains …
… The poets attribute to Atlas … a superior wisdom and an universal

knowledge, and especially a thorough acquaintance with the depths of the
ocean: because both continents bore races instructed by divine masters,
and because both were transferred to the bottom of the seas, where they
now slumber until their next reappearance above the waters.
Atlas is the son of an ocean nymph, and his daughter is —“the watery
deep,” (Hesiod): Atlantis has been submerged beneath the waters of the
ocean, and its progeny is now sleeping its eternal sleep on the ocean floors.
The Odyssey makes of him the guardian and the “sustainer” of the huge
Compassion (Nicholas Roerich 1936)
pillars that separate the heavens from the earth.
He is their “supporter.” And as both Lemuria, destroyed by submarine fires,

and Atlantis, submerged by the waves, perished in the ocean deeps, Atlas is
said to have been compelled to leave the surface of the earth, and join his
brother Iapetos [Japheth, son of Noah] in the depths of Tartarus.
… Atlas “standing on the solid floor of the inferior hemisphere of the

universe and thus carrying at the same time the disc of the earth and the
celestial vault—the solid envelope of the superior hemisphere”… For Atlas is
Atlantis which supports the new continents and their horizons on its
shoulders.”36
There are some associations with Atlas here – one is with transiting Neptune
currently in Pisces – the lord of the oceans in the sign of the fishes. The
lower and higher interpretations of that position: Deception and illusion, or Calypso promises immortality to
the visioning of new ideals through the evocation of the higher intuition Odysseus – the story being the
which Neptune rules – buddhi. history of the transition from
Atlantis into the Fifth Rootrace.
The other interpretation may relate to new
continents arising and old ones sinking, a
process that will take place over the next few thousands years, as the world
transitions from the fifth to sixth rootrace.
A new comet has now been discovered which is due to make its way by Earth’s orbit
and the inner planets of Mercury and Venus. Comet SWAN (C/2020 F8) was
discovered on April 11 which, like ATLAS was meant to, will arrive at the orbit of
Mercury in late May. But astronomers are saying that this one may also break up, so
we keep our eye on the heavens!
Are We Really Ready for the Externalisation?

Dream – shared by a friend in the ageless wisdom, April 2020:
“I was in a house somewhere with others and all of sudden someone announced that Djwhal
Khul was arriving to pay us a visit. We excitedly peered out the window and could see a car in
traffic – containing DK’s entourage of monks with shaved heads and orange robes. We could
not see His face but knew that He was in the car.
We rushed around tidying up the house and ourselves, looking in the mirror to check appearance and presentability.
My heart was pounding so hard that it was all I could do to “contain” it within my chest. There was a mixture of
excitement, exhilaration, and even fear and unworthiness.
I woke up from the dream, and immediately heard the lyrics to the song “Eye in the Sky” – a song about Sirius,
literally the “eye” of that stupendous Being – the brightest star in the night sky.37:
“I am the eye in the sky, Looking at you, I can read your mind, I am the maker of rules … etc.”
Analysis An impression from the Master and/or the Ashram. The house probably
represents a (second ray) ashram with which the dreamer and the group of
people are affiliated. The dream confirms that Hierarchy is on its way and the
Externalisation process has definitely begun – since the coronavirus epidemic
was announced, close to the Pluto-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn.
The dream stimulates ongoing reflections by many students of the Mysteries

around the question – just how ready are world disciples and aspirants for the
Externalisation of the Hierarchy? Have they done the required work expected of
them by Hierarchy, or have they been a dismal failure – too little, too late?
DK has said that students of the Wisdom are the most glamoured members of
Alot of musicians from the late the New Group of World Servers; they tend to discuss rather glibly the subject of
60’s to early 80’s were Masters and 2025, but what if a Master chose to be physically in one’s
cosmically inspired – Pink Floyd, presence? Would you be able to handle the intense vibration that would emanate
Genesis, Yes, Supertramp, Alan from such a Being?
Parsons etc.
Not that such an event might
happen to 99.99% of us, but imagine – what if? A Master can choose to
modulate their vibration and most of the time, would be extremely
constrained.
Even a “light touch” from a Master in the subjective realm, can energise
an aspirant for a lifetime. Imagine what that would be like upon the
physical plane? – because that is where the Externalisation will eventually
take place.
“Touch—response to control or vibration, and the recognition of that

which lies outside of the separated human unit on the physical plane. This
covers the period of gradual spiritual unfoldment, the Paths of Probation
and of Discipleship right up to the door of initiation.

Would we experience fear and sense of unworthiness that come

from a direct realisation of what the Master’s emanation brings up
in a disciple? – “the eye in the sky, looking at you, reading your
mind”! Or, a lack of preparedness, seeing an unflattering view of
one’s Dweller – those personality parts still fragmented or
unintegrated? A deeply humbling experience to be sure!
“The work of the probationer is to attune his vibration to that of

his Master, to purify his three lower bodies so that they form no
hindrance to that contact, and so to dominate his lower mind that
it is no longer a barrier to the downflow of light from the threefold
Spirit.”39
All those who are consciously making the long return journey
“home”, have a sense of aspiration to the vision of Externalisation,
but many of us carry contradictions and unresolved dualities. To
Wanderer of the Light City (Nicholas Roerich) use a rather sixth ray military analogy: Not yet “battle ready” in
preparing vehicles for “fit service” – in the “Army of the Lord”!
Those vehicles are the etheric-physical and a good health/vitality

– where have we been remiss or lazy? The desire/astral body and
old habits not yet eliminated – excessive emotion, desire or
zealotry.
The rationalisation that certain habits and desires are acceptable,

when in fact the true disciple knows deep down they are not, that
they must be relinquished once and for all. An aspirant might
adopt the following philosophy:
“Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know
the difference.”40
Then there is the mental body, the Western inclination for

polarisation in the lower mind – the separative, concrete mind
divorced from the higher mind, seat of the soul; the extraordinary
pride of mind that many aspirants and disciples carry. We are so Command of Master (Nicholas Roerich)
plugged into these habits on a daily basis, that it obscures vision,
partly because that is where most of the world is polarised. We strive to be “in the world”, but “not of it” – yet many
are preoccupied with being more “in the world”.
For this latter mental tendency, the following statement illustrates. Also, an analogy can be made of how students
distort DK’s teachings, just as generations of “Churchianity” and theologians have done with Christ’s teachings:
“The presentation of religious truth in the past has blocked the

growth of the religious spirit; theology has brought mankind to the
very gates of despair; the delicate flower of the Christ life has been
stunted and arrested in the dark caves of man’s thinking; fanatical
adherence to human interpretations has taken the place of Christian
living …
… millions of books have obliterated the living words of Christ; the

arguments and discussions of priests have put out the light which the
Buddha brought, and the love of God as revealed by the life of Christ
has been forgotten whilst men have quarrelled over meanings, over
phrases and words. In the meantime, men have agonised, starved,
suffered, demanded help and instruction and, unsatisfied, have lost
faith.”41

Bailey’s experience at the age of 15, when her Master Koot Hoomi
made a physical visitation:
“The door opened and in walked a tall man dressed in European clothes (very well cut, I
remember) but with a turban on his head. He came in and sat down beside me. I was so
petrified at the sight of the turban that I could not make a sound or ask what he was
doing there. Then he started to talk.
He told me there was some work that it was planned that I could do in the world but
that it would entail my changing my disposition very considerably

I always appreciate your newsletters and have learned a lot, tho’ sometimes overwhelmed by all the information.
Usually I can keep in mind the really important transits; squares, trines, etc.which will effect upcoming months and for
that I’m grateful.
I’d like to comment on the Reinhold Neibuhr quote: I’ve read that the original wording was “Lord, grant me the Grace
to accept with Serenity the things I cannot change, change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.”
It’s a minor thing but seems to resonate more truly.
