Assalamualaikum and a very good morning to teachers and friends.

My name is
Ku Durrani Syaurah binti Ku Hairil from 1 Kesturi and today I would like to
tell you a story entitled:

The Crocodile and Monkey

Once upon a time, in a small pond, there lived a gentle crocodile and on a
nearby tree, lived a very smart monkey. They were very good friends. Every
day, the monkey would pluck some juicy apples for the crocodile. In the
afternoon, the crocodile would swim to the center of the pond and pick some
fishes for the monkey.

One day, the crocodile told his wife about his friend, the monkey. The wife was
very greedy, she wanted to eat the monkey! She asked her husband to invite the
monkey for lunch at their place the next day so she could kill the monkey and
eat his heart! The crocodile became very sad as he was very fond of his monkey
friend, but at the same time he was afraid of his wife. Finally, he promised his
wife he would bring her the monkey.

The next day, the monkey asked the crocodile for a ride. He quickly sat on the
crocodile’s back. Sadly, while he was swimming, the crocodile told the monkey
that he had promised he would bring the monkey home for his wife to eat! The
monkey was shocked. Then, he told the crocodile that he had accidentally left
his heart with the apples on the tree. The gentle crocodile swam back to the tree.
He wasn’t very clever, you see… As they came back, the monkey jumped off
the crocodile’s back and went back to hide in the jungle leaving the poor
crocodile behind.

The lesson from "The Crocodile and Monkey" is to be careful about who you
trust, especially when someone asks you to do something that goes against your
friendship and what you believe is right. The story also shows that clever
thinking can help you in tough situations. In this story, the monkey's cleverness
helps him escape from the crocodile's dangerous plan.

I hope you enjoyed the story… thank you.
