    Fourth Directed Exercise

    Due: 17th February (10am) [note extended deadline]

    • Your fourth directed exercise is due by 10am on Thursday, February 17th

    • Your assignment should be submitted to our Classes V*2 site under “Assignments” as an
    attached document.

    • As you know from the syllabus, because this is a large lecture class, it is important to have
    explicit and uniform policies. Among those policies is the following:
    • Directed exercises will be marked down 1 point for each 24 hours that they are late
    (rounded up to the nearest 24 hours).

    Exercise:

    In the person of either John Stuart Mill or Bernard Williams, write a two- to three-
    paragraph reaction to Ursula LeGuin’s Omelas story.

    Your essay can be very short: 300-500 words is plenty.
