GRADE 3 QUARTER 2 FACTS AND OPINION

Facts:
Definition: Facts are statements that can be proven to be true or false based on
evidence or objective reality.

Characteristics:

Facts are objective and unbiased.

They are based on observable, verifiable, and measurable information.

Different people, when presented with the same set of facts, should come to the
same conclusion.

Example: "Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius."

Opinions:
Definition: Opinions are expressions of personal beliefs, feelings, preferences, or
judgments and are subjective.

Characteristics:

Opinions are influenced by personal perspectives, experiences, and emotions.

They cannot be proven true or false since they are based on individual viewpoints.

Different people may have different opinions on the same subject.

Example: "Chocolate ice cream is the best flavor."
