PHILIPPINE PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS

(RPMS-PPST”
INTRODUCTION
March 02, 2023, TLE and MAPEH Department headed by Dr. Ma. Nenita L. Tan, Head Teacher III –
TLE, conducted School Learning Action Cell on School Roll-Out on Multi-Year Guidelines on the Results-
Based Performance Management System Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (RPMS-PPST) to
ensure the delivery of quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education in the institution.
Consistent with DepEd Order (DO) No. 2, s. 2015 prescribing the Guidelines on the Establishment and
Implementation of the Results-Based Performance Management System (RPMS) in the Department of
Education (DepEd) and pursuant to Section 5 of DO 42, s. 2017 on the National Adoption and Implementation
of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), which mandates that all performance appraisals
for teachers shall be based on this set of standards, this Department continues its commitment to integrating and
embedding the PPST into the RPMS for teachers.
Geared towards competency-based performance management, professional development, and career
progression, the PPST-based RPMS for teachers shall utilize all the 37 indicators of the PPST and shall be
distributed across three school years (SYS): SY 2022-2023, SY 2023-2024, and SY 2024-2025. This DepEd
Memorandum titled Multi-Year Guidelines on the Results-Based Performance Management System- Philippine
Professional Standards for Teachers (RPMS-PPST) details the enclosed procedures and all other necessary
information on the adoption and implementation of performance management and appraisal of teachers.

OBJECTIVES:
 To ensure the delivery of quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education in the
institution.
 To enrich teachers’ professional accountability.
 To orient teachers with the recent RPMS Manual.
 To acquire a clear understanding of the different tools of RPMS.
 To design implementation strategies as well as strategic framework to provide support
mechanism in the school level.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
TLE and MAPEH teachers were able to familiarize themselves on the RPMS-PPST manual. Also, they
were able to identify points that can help them ensure the quality of instruction they deliver among learners. On
the same manner, they were able to come up with Individual Development Plan (IDP) which can help them be
guided with the things that may need more improvement and development.
BEST PRACTICES:
The participants were distributed with a manual so they can guide themselves on the flow of the
discussion on RPMS-PPST. Likewise, the discussant, Dr. Tan, made a meaningful and comprehensive lecture
about the recent manual.

PROBLEM MET:
The manual was quite lengthy and reading seemed laborious to do.

SOLUTION MADE:
The presenters made sure that she would make the discussion light but way interesting, meaningful,
and comprehensive.

WAYS FORWARD/RECOMMENDATIONS:
The school shall keep the teachers familiar with the current trends helpful on the improvement on the
quality of the instruction the teachers deliver among learners for them to have a meaningful and life-long
learning experiences.
