Do you know iron man, spider man, captain america?

Do you know of which studio those characters are? Yes, we can see a lots of
famous characters like iron man, captain america, hulk through the
blockbuster movies of marvel studio.
We used to think that marvel studio was an independent entertainment
company, but in 2009, the company had a very successful merger and
acquisition with the company of extremely famous princesses - walt disney.
In 2009, Disney realized the enormous potential of Marvel Studios and spent
$ 4 billion to acquire this studio. This is considered one of the most successful
investments in Hollywood history. Disney hopes to put Marvel's 5,000
characters to work on its television channels and in video games, theme parks
and movies. The agreed takeover is for a mixture of cash and stock, with
Disney shares accounting for roughly 40% of the buyout price. The tie-up
unites two companies with similar business models – they both take
characters which capture the popular imagination and promote them
vigorously around the world on every possible media platform and through
third-party licensing deals. Reacting to critics that insinuated he might have
paid too much for a comic book company. It was estimated that 57 percent of
the valuation, or $2.3 billion out of the $4 billion purchase price, pertained to
the value of expected growth. Significantly, the growth value implied a
reinvestment rate of more than 20 percent, which at the time seemed like an
aggressive assumption even for a company with Disney’s financial resources.
Aggressive or not, the strategic question facing Disney was, if they paid a
“full price” for Marvel, which seemed likely at the time, how could they
profit from the acquisition? But CEO Disney - Bob Iger was right. Disney
released its first MCU film in 2012, to date, Disney / Marvel blockbusters
have sold more than $ 18.2 billion worldwide. A total of 23 MCU films
grossed $ 22.4 billion and continute to grow. In 2019, the MCU continues to
expand at a dizzying pace. Avengers: Endgame made an extraordinary
achievement after only 3 months in the theaters worldwide. That's $ 2.79
billion in revenue, surpassing Avatar's record of $ 2.78 billion. In short, the
strategy of merging and acquiring Disney's Marvel studio is a good decision
of Mr. Iger. M&A term is increasingly applied by companies and large
corporations effectively, bringing extremely high economic efficiency for
their companies.
