i. PRE-LESSON (6 min.) : 1. Pupils listen to a phonics song containing the targeted


phonemes.

ii. LESSON : 1. Pupils listen to 2 to 4 phonemes and look at the gestures.


DEVELOPMENT 2. Pupils articulate the sounds together with gestures.
(49 min.) 3. Pupils listen to the words and identify the relevant sounds
using open/closed hands (eg: open if ssss close if mmm)
4. Pupils in pairs come forward and Hit the Board as they listen.
5. Teacher demonstrates the Picture Card Lucky Box by drawing
a card and reading the word on it.
Unit 1 Fun at the Beach 6. Pupils pronounce the word or just the sound and other pupils
Unit 2 Annie Ant & Axe repeat with the corresponding gesture.
Unit 3 Tom and Pat 7. Repeat the above steps with other sets of targeted phonemes.

Teacher may show the pictures of the actions too.

3. Pupils practice the actions with friends while listening to the


rhyme again. Repeat 2-3 times.

4. Teacher displays the key words on screen and invites pupils to


read after the audio clips.

5. Pupils take turn to follow the rhythm and read aloud the
rhyme.

iii. POST-LESSON (7 min.) : 6. “Remember it and say it”. Pupils construct a circle map on the
whiteboard in group. Then, reproduce the phonemes they’ve
learnt. Check answer with all.
