To whom it may concern:

I am pleased to recommend Mrs. Hope Holt (McCain) to you for employment as a new graduate registered nurse. I am
one of Mrs. Holt’s faculty instructors and advisors while enrolled in the Baccalaureate Nursing Program at the University
of Arizona. During her time at the College of Nursing, Mrs. Holt has provided excellent care for the patients and their
families. She did an excellent job of integrating theory into clinical practice at the bedside, therefore enhancing both her
academic and clinical performance.

Mrs. Holt’s strengths include the ability to critically think through patient situations and prioritize care for all patients
almost independently. She has excellent written and verbal communication skills. She has demonstrated the delivery of
compassionate, competent nursing care to all patient populations. In addition, she eagerly accepts challenging situations
and works to find positive patient outcomes. Mrs. Holt is a natural born leader and demonstrates many leadership
characteristics which enables her to be self-directed and able to quickly acquire new skills. Once skills are mastered, she
is self-motivated to learn more. She enjoys learning new information and is able to make the transition to application
very readily. She is able to gather relevant information seamlessly and incorporate it into her patient plan of care. She
demonstrates wisdom beyond her years.

Mrs. Holt has also taken time to be part of Elder Care HRSA funded Grant titled OASIS. This involved attending a 5 week
summer intensive program and monthly workshops during the school year that included additional skills development,
education and activities to further her nursing education with a focus on the care of older adults. She was able to
complete several hours of working in the community to help serve under-represented communities. As a result of her
increased effort to help others, she fully accepts the responsibility of advocating on behalf of patients and their families.
Mrs. Holt was one student who consistently demonstrated growth each semester, while remaining humble to truly
engage in the learning experience. Her ability to think beyond the apparent is truly impressive.

I support Mrs. Holts’s application for employment as a nurse in her area of interest, as I believe she will make significant
contributions to the nursing profession. I believe on day she will be a leader in this profession, due to her excellent
leadership skills. She is a bright, knowledgeable student who is willing to work hard to meet her goals. She has proven to
be very mature, a team player and supportive of others. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions
regarding her qualifications.

Sincerely,

Linda Perez RN
