Evaluation Criteria for Content (50%)

Quality Score Description


 Content is very interesting and highly relevant
A 41 – 50  Ideas show a high level of maturity and well thought out
 Provides very clear perspective on the topic.
 Content is interesting and consistently relevant
 Ideas show some maturity of thought but may not be well thought
B 31 – 40

 Provides clear perspective of the topic
 Content shows some interest value / is intermittently relevant
C 21 – 30  Ideas lack maturity and may lack conviction
 Able to provide some perspective to the topic
 Content lacks interest value and has little relevance to the topic
D 11 – 20  Ideas are rather lifeless / more recitation than presentation
 Perspective on the topic weak

 Content is mostly irrelevant


E 1 – 10
 Ideas / perspective on the topic confusing

Evaluation Criteria for Presentation (20%)

Quality Score Description


 Organization of ideas – exceptional and very logical
 Presentation – very clear and articulate
A 17 - 20
 Ideas flow coherently from one presenter to another
 Impressive, captivating, and memorable presentation

 Good, logical organisation of ideas


 Clear and articulate presentation
B 13 – 16
 Ideas show coherence between presenters
 Presentation is able to hold the attention of the audience

 Logical organisation of ideas


 Presentation is generally clear
C 9 – 12
 Ideas show some coherence between presenters
 Presentation may not always hold the attention of the audience

 Lacks organisation of ideas


 Presentation lacks clarity
D 5–8
 Ideas between presenters lack coherence
 Presentation fails to hold the attention of the audience

 Ideas are haphazardly presented


 Presentation is unclear
E 1–4
 Ideas seem alienated between presenters
 Incompetent presentation

Quality Score Description


 Shows mastery and liveliness in the use of language
 High level of grammar competence
A 17 - 20
 Able to use relevant lexis consistently
 Shows excellent understanding of semantics and vocabulary

 Some liveliness in the use of language


 Good control of grammar
B 13 – 16
 Some relevant lexis is used
 Demonstrates clear semantics

 Language lacks liveliness


 Shows some control over the grammar
C 9 – 12
 Some errors in terminology / vocabulary used
 Meaning is not distorted

 Some sense in language despite many linguistic errors


 Lacks control over the grammar
D 5–8
 Poor vocabulary
 Meaning distorted

 Language used makes little or no sense


E 1–4
 No control over grammar – shows serious errors in structure

Evaluation Criteria for Language (10%)

 Quality of the recording - visual & sound clarity
B 7–8
 Creativity & initiative
C 5–6
D 3–4  Editing – continuity of the presentation
E 1–2  Visual & audio effect – should not overpower the presentation
