Fitting and Alterations Coat Flow Chart

PREP
-Cut out pattern pieces and notches
-Stay stitch and interface all pieces
BODY
-Sew princess seams on front and back pieces
-Sew welt pockets onto front side pieces
-Sew coat back together and coat fronts and backs together
-Sew back and front facing pieces together
-Sew notched collar
-Anchor stitch collar at the coat to collar seamline
SLEEVES
-Sew upper and lower sleeves together
-Sew sleeves to coat body
-Add sleeve head to armscye seam
-Insert shoulder pads and hand stitch to shoulder seam
LINING
-Sew upper and lower sleeve linings together
-Sew coat front and back linings together
-Sew lining sleeves to lining body
-Sew coat lining to coat facings
-Insert and sew sleeve lining into coat sleeve at the wrist
-Sew kick pleat and attach lining to kick pleat
-Anchor sleeve lining to coat body with fabric ties
-Attach the lining to coat at the hem
FINISHING
-Sew buttonholes onto center front piece
-Sew buttons onto center front piece
-Press collar, sleeves, and hem
