3. . What are some types of discourse competences you already know?
Explain how they relate into your real daily life!
4. Why do you think grammatical competences are important according to the
passages?

Answer:
1. After reading the text, in my opinion, discourse refers to more than just the
use of language in communication. It includes various components such as
social and cultural aspects of communication, including who uses language,
how, why, when, and where it is used. , the meaning that arises in
interaction depends not only on the linguistic aspects exploited in it, but
more than that meaning is also influenced by aspects outside the language
such as those in the cultural context.

2. We can speak English like what native speakers do but not necessarily
because As an English learner, speaking like a native speaker depends on
everyone for me it doesn't really matter why? Because the first is that
English is not our native language and of course it is a bit difficult for us
like native speakers, so as long as we can, I think it is enough.

3. Some of the types of discourse competence mentioned in the text include

linguistic competence, which involves understanding and using the
grammar and vocabulary of a language. All these things are related to
everyday life. For example, when we listen to a friend's story, talk in a
discussion, read an article, or write a message.

4. Grammatical competence has an important role. With a strong

understanding of grammar, language users can communicate more
effectively and accurately. Grammar allows us to organize words and
phrases in a way that conveys their intended meaning and avoids confusion.
