QA REPORT
Noted by:

Title TESTING OF NEW PRE-TREATMENT CHEMICALS Date: November 22, 2023

I. Objective:

To determine and evaluate the quality of a pre-painted galvalume coil (PPGL) with the new pre-treatment
chemicals

II. Background

Good quality surface preparation is important to ensure that the surface of substrates is properly cleaned
and treated before painting. This is to have good adhesion of paint to the galvanized strip. In our color coating line,
we have four stages of the pre-treatment process.
Chromate conversion coating, this process produces an amorphous protective coating that can be applied
to various metals (e.g., steel or aluminum). This is a non-rinse chrome technology that enhances better corrosion
resistance and improves the adhesion of paint coatings.

III. Methodology

Quality Assurance (QA) conducted laboratory painting of the samples. Using Drawdown panel

however higher T-bend test result. On the other hand, PT shows low adhesion and failed all the adhesion test.

IV. Conclusion and Recommendations

Based on the result,Non-chromating PT) shows a comparable result to the current however higher T-
bend test result. On the other hand, Primerless PT shows low adhesion and failed all the adhesion test.
Retained samples from each of the panel will be subjected to Accelerated Weathering Test (Salt Spray
Test) for further evaluation.
