AIRPORT TRAFFIC ZONE (ATZ)

ATZ is designated at a radius of 5NM from the Airport Reference point (ARP)

And are capped at 3000’ AGL rounded to the nearest VFR altitude

When Operating at Uncontrolled Airports standard turns are required within

5 NM’s from ARP. Beyond 5 NMs there are no restrictions.

The following is a recommended procedure for departing out of an

uncontrolled Airport:

1. If Outbound Track is within 15° of Take off runway, the track can be
intercepted immediately after takeoff.
2. When Track is within 165° Left of Takeoff runway, a close in Left turn
should be initiated after takeoff until established on track.
3. When Track is 165° Right of Takeoff runway, Maintain runway
heading until 5 NM from ARP then turn right to intercept Outbound
track.
