Research Proposal Concept Paper

Project Title:

Alleviating Poverty as a Global Goal: Strategies for Sustainable Transformation

Introduction

Addressing the pervasive global challenge of poverty, this research project sets out to delve
into its multifaceted aspects, pinpoint its underlying causes, and devise evidence-based
strategies for achieving sustainable poverty alleviation on a global level. With millions of
individuals affected worldwide, it is essential to undertake a comprehensive approach that not
only identifies the root causes but also offers practical solutions. Through this endeavour, I
aim to contribute to the collective effort in addressing poverty and fostering lasting change
for people across the globe.

Statement of the Problem

Poverty manifests in various forms, including income poverty, food insecurity, lack of access
to basic necessities, and limited opportunities for education, healthcare, and employment.
These deprivations not only hinder individuals' ability to meet their basic needs but also
constrain their potential to contribute to society and lead fulfilling lives.

Objectives

Overall Goal:

To contribute to the global efforts in alleviating poverty sustainably.

Specific Objectives:

a. Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current state of global poverty, considering

variations across regions and demographic groups.
b. Identify key factors contributing to persistent poverty, including economic inequalities,
access to education and healthcare, and environmental degradation.
c. Proposing evidence-based strategies and interventions to alleviate poverty,
emphasizing long-term sustainability and inclusivity.
Methods or Procedures

This study will integrate quantitative and qualitative methodologies, utilizing statistical
analysis of global poverty data, case studies spanning multiple countries, and consultations
with experts and policymakers. Through comparative analyses, the research aims to derive
valuable insights into successful poverty alleviation strategies, offering a comprehensive
understanding of effective models for addressing this critical issue.

Expected Results

Through a comprehensive analysis, the anticipated outcomes of this initiative encompass a

sophisticated comprehension of global poverty dynamics. It will enable the identification of
specific challenges impacting various regions, paired with actionable recommendations
tailored for international organizations, governments, and communities to promote
sustainable poverty alleviation. The insights gained from this endeavour will provide
invaluable knowledge in addressing the multifaceted aspects of poverty, equipping
stakeholders with the tools needed to instigate meaningful and lasting change on a global
scale.

Resources and Personnel

My approach to addressing global poverty relies on strategic collaboration with international

development agencies and partnerships with poverty-focused NGOs, as well as leveraging
global poverty databases. With a multidisciplinary research team comprising experts in
economics, social sciences, and sustainable development, our approach ensures a holistic and
comprehensive strategy to tackle poverty's multifaceted challenges. Through these strategic
