Lesson plan

Class: 9
Level: 14, B1(intermediate)
Topic: Jobs
Overview:
Pre-lesson Activities:
Students were asked to make a list of the jobs in demand and think why they
are so popular and important.
During the Lesson Activities:
- To brainstorm for topic-related vocabulary
- To study new vocabulary (Jobs, Job descriptions, Job-related adjectives),
- To practice topic-related vocabulary (play jeopardy)
- To listen and read for gist (to predict the content of the text)
- To read for specific information (work in groups)
- Consolidation of grammar skills: Adverbs of manner
- To develop writing skills (Would you like to work as a (job)? Why? Why
not?): a para of a few sentences
Post Lesson Activities:
Reflect on the learning points from the lesson.
Create the definitions of 2 professions and present the way you like.
Aims:
to improve students' speaking skills,
to develop the ability to cooperate in groups,
to consolidate the use of vocabulary from the topic "Jobs",
to develop students' listening and skills;
to develop critical thinking;
to highlight the necessary information,
to create own job definitions based on samples,
to cultivate a positive attitude to learning English,
to promote respectful, tolerant attitude towards different jobs.
Outcomes:
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
- use topic-related vocabulary and present job descriptions,
- form and use adverbs of manner;
- communicate within the chosen topic;
- express their opinion clearly and well-founded.

Digital literacy:
Learners will develop the ability to find and select information, collaborate
and communicate online, create a digital product, evaluate online, develop
functional digital skills (following the links, working online, typing in the
chat)
Autonomy:
Teacher as a Facilitator: the teacher acts as a facilitator, guiding students to
find answers and solutions on their own.
Peer Collaboration: students can work together in groups on certain tasks
related to the topic.
Reflection and Self-assessment: learners reflect at the end of the lesson,
assess their performance, recognize their weaknesses and strengths and
identify areas of improvement.

Pre-lesson task:
Learners will watch the video about The MOST In Demand Jobs, make
their own lists of the jobs in demand and think why those ones are so popular
and important.

Actual Lesson:
Warm-up: Start with a greeting task from Slido
Brainstorm for topic-related vocabulary using Mentimeter (the most in demand
jobs).
Main part:
Explore the variety of jobs, job qualities and careers through Liveworksheets,
Jeopardylabs.
Revise adverbs of manner through different interactive platforms and exercises:
Liveworksheets.
Practise listening comprehension skills on the topic
Read for gist (to predict the content of the text) and for specific information
(work in groups on the Jamboard)
