What is Blood?

Life is impossible without blood. Our blood circulates throughout our

body, supplying the cells with nutrients and oxygen that are
necessary for life. Additionally, it moves metabolic waste out of
those cells. Blood cannot be substituted. It cannot be manufactured
or made. The only source of blood for people who require a blood
transfusion is kind blood donors.
Functions of Blood
A specific type of bodily fluid is blood. Plasma, red blood cells, white
blood cells, and platelets make up its four primary parts. Blood
serves a variety of purposes, including:

*Delivering nutrition and oxygen to the tissues, including the lungs.

*Clotting blood to stop excessive blood loss.
*Containing immune-fighting cells and antibodies.
*Delivering waste to the liver and kidneys, which filter and cleanse
the blood.
*Control of body temperature.

Whole blood, a mixture of roughly 45 percent blood cells and 55

percent plasma, is the blood that flows through the veins, arteries,
and capillaries. Your blood makes up roughly 7–8% of your total
body weight. There are around 12 pints of blood in an
average-sized man's body and 9 pints in an average-sized woman.
