PROBLEM 1

How high can a human throw a ball if he can throw it with initial velocity 20 m/s.

PROBLEM 2

Ice hockey player shoot the puck with an initial velocity 15 m/s. The puck slows down with a
constant acceleration of - 0,30 m/s2.

a) How far does the puck slide before stopping?

b) How long does it take to stop?

PROBLEM 3

A car starts from rest and travels for 10 seconds with a constant acceleration of 2,0 m/s 2 . The driver
then applies the brakes causing a constant negative acceleration of -4,0 m/s2. Assuming the brakes
are applied for 4.0 seconds.

a) Describe a velocity of car graphically (velocity as a function of time)

b) How fast is the car going at the end of braking?

How far has the car gone at the end of braking?

PROBLEM 4

a) We drive a distance of 8 km at 60 km/h. Then we drive an additional distance 15 km at 120

km/h. What is our average speed?
b) Total distance we are going to travel is 300 km. Our average speed is 100 km/h on the first
half of trip (150 km). What is our average speed on the second half of trip, if the total time we
spend to the trip is 3,0 h?

PROBLEM 5

A car increases its speed uniformly from 60 km/h to 100 km/h in a distance of 300 m. Find
a) Acceleration of the car
b) The time it takes the car to travel the 200 m distance.
