Society requires rules and laws to function properly as complete freedom would lead to chaos. While human rights and freedom are important, allowing citizens to do whatever they want without any laws could increase social issues like drug abuse and damage people's health. It would also make the government vulnerable and harm economic progress. Therefore, some regulations are needed alongside other measures to both protect citizens and handle offenses.

free to do whatever they wanted. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
As society develops, people are attaching much importance to human
rights and freedom. Therefore, there is a group of individuals who advocate that citizens should be allowed to do everything they care for, and laws are such an imposition. However, although I appreciate the freedom, I cannot agree with the argument. First and the foremost, law plays an indispensable role in protecting and maintaining order and safety for the residents. The indiscriminate use of stimulants is a prime illustration of the lack of law and polices. Provided the uncritical use of drugs, the loss of control of social evils intend to increase rapidly, leading to many severe consequences such as damaged health, melancholy spiritual life, …. Secondly, The laxity in control would make the government vulnerable to overthrow; hence, it stands a chance for protests to occur. Moreover, it is challenging for the economy to make progress and gradually lag behind. In conclusion, I can clearly see reasons why harsh regulations should be embraced alongside with other subsidiary schemes to handle the offences and simultaneously promote the citizens’s safety.
