EXCERCISE

STATIC FORCE PROCEDURE (NSCP 2015)

Instructions: Submit your output in VLE.

1. Apply the static force procedure outlined under NSCP Sec 208.5.2 (Static Force

Procedure) to a minimum of ten (10) storey regular and symmetrical planned

building. The building must be under 75 m tall.

2. Use Method A only

3. Find the following:

a. Design Base Shear

b. The Overturning Moment

c. Design Story Shears

d. Design Story Forces

4. Assume your building to be made of special RC moment frames throughout its

height.

5. Assume your own occupancy, soil, and location (except Zone 2).

6. All seismic factors used must be shown in your work.

7. Additional points will be given if you compare your result to the result of ETABS.

8. This is an individual work, do not replicate your classmate’s work.
