Austin High Model United Nations

Board Constitution
Purpose

The purpose of the Austin High MUN Board is to promote full participation in the

program in aspects including but not limited to AUSMUN, respected deputy and/or

under-secretary positions, FreshMUN, MiddleMUN, AVIDMUN, Tournament of

Champions, and summer camp. All members of the Austin High MUN Board must

promote service to their community, encourage good conduct, and develop leadership,

responsibility, and a sense of excellence. Through the development of cooperation,

positive relationships, and teamwork, the board shall fulfill its purpose for the benefit of

the Austin High MUN program and community as a whole. Each board member must

meet all the standards as set forth in this constitution.

● To encourage and support interest in the Austin High Model United Nations
program

Expectations of Austin High Model United Nations

Board
● AUSMUN Board Members must be passing all classes with a grade 70 (C) or
above

● AUSMUN Board Members must adhere to Austin High School’s attendance

policy, with 90% attendance per class (no more than 4 unexcused absences per
semester)
 ● Austin High and Austin High Model United Nations has a 0 tolerance for illegal
and underage substance use. If you are seen or caught by staff using illegal
substances, or photographed using illegal substances, you will be removed from
the board

● AUSMUN Board Members must maintain a professional disposition with their

online and social media presence, and must not post photos or video of
themselves participating in anything illegal

● There is a zero tolerance for bullying, online or in person

● All board meetings must be attended on time. If you have another MANDATORY
commitment, this must be communicated to leadership and Mr. Miller at least 24
hours prior to the meeting.
○ While we understand that Model UN meetings can conflict with other
leadership commitments/clubs, you are expected to make the board
meetings your priority and not schedule doctors appointments, test
retakes, or anything else during these times.

By signing this contract, you ensure that you understand your expectations to follow all

guidelines established by the Austin High Model United Nations Board Constitution

while on the board. You understand that you are representing your academy, Austin

High, AISD, and MUN as a whole by being in this position.
