 RESEARCH QUESTION

IN SOCCER, IS THERE
SUCH A THING AS A BAD
PLAYER?
 IN THIS PROJECT I WILL TALK,
RESEARCH, GIVE EXAMPLES, AND
BACKGROUND DISCUSS WHAT IS A “BAD PLAYER”
ON PEOPLE’S EYES. WHY FOOTBALL
INFO: (SOCCER) PLAYERS ARE CALLED
“BAD PLAYERS”? SOCCER PLAYERS'
IMPORTANCE ON THE FIELD, AND
WHAT THE FACTORS AFFECTING A
PLAYER.
Why does this matter? and why is it important?

It is important because the idea of a "bad player" may change

depending on the situation and apply to any sport, including
football (soccer). People just judge but don’t actually think about
what is wrong, they don’t actually think about many factors, like a
player's skill level, experience, dedication, and the level of
competition they are playing in, this determines whether or not
they are viewed as "bad" players.
My Positionality

I’ve watched and played soccer since I

have a memory, and I’m passionate
about this sport. I think my positionally
will help me to use

my audience are my age, education
level, and maybe gender. I’m a 19-year-
old male who is in his second year of
college

become much stronger
As I grew older I started to
notice more things, I’ve
realized how some people
just like to judge without
actually understanding
what exactly happened.
One of my teammates who
played the same position as I
did, but was much older than
me, everyone just looked at his
downfall and viewed him as a
“bad” player, then he moved
schools and played soccer over
there, and it turned out he did
really good that teams were
scouting him.
During my junior, I had a
bad season of soccer,
remember but in the
end, it helped me to
for my senior year.
One time during a soccer match,
I had the ball and decided to
pass the ball to one of my
defenders who was open
without any danger, but he
wasn't too skillful and everyone
got mad at me, and their
argument was because he was
“bad” and then I said well how is
he going to grow as a player if we
don’t encourage him, and pass
him the ball, through experience
he will learn, but that is just
discouraging
 Intentions
I think we should never doubt
what a person can do, yea
maybe the numbers or past
performances might say
something else, but my
intentions are for others to
not feel discouraged.
Instead of classifying athletes as "bad," it would be
better for us to evaluate their abilities and weaknesses
and help them in making improvements where
necessary. The goal should be to assist each player in
realizing their potential and positively influencing to the
success of the team.
Labels like "bad player" should be used with
consideration because they can be discouraging and
prevent players from getting better. Instead of passing
judgment, coaches and teammates usually put greater
importance on providing helpful criticism and room for
improvement.
