1. On the Internet, anyone can publish anything to a website, a blog, or a 6 marks

social media site, regardless of whether the information is true. Recent
years have seen a spike in misleading or false "news" and hoaxes that are
shared as fact on social media. How can you tell fake news stories from
real ones?

The best way to differentiate fake news from fact-check. The proccess
involves checking various sources (such as established news-outlets,
scientific journals and reputable websites ) to verify the claims of a news
story. It is also important to distinguish primary sources from secondary
sources. Anything that provides you with concrete proof about the people,
events,or phenomena you are investigating is a primary source. Primary
source are more credible than secondary sources, so it is better to rely on
them than secondary sources. If reading secondary sourcesc check the
sources and citations to see if they are credible. Moreover,check the
author’ s or publisher’ s credibility .Lastly, familiarize yourself with
internet domain extensions such as .com,.net,.org,and gov. For
example ,you should not consider .blog websites as reliable sources
because blog or logs that someone uses to share their opinions on a
variety of topics.

2. Explain types of input and output devices would be ideal for a college 4 marks
student completing his or her coursework?
Output devices can help student completing her coursework sich as
monitor.A monitor can connetcsto the dekstop computer to provide users
with visual output . Secondly ,printer takes an image from a computer
devices and displays it on a paper document who help student for
coursework .Besides that ,types of input devices is keyboard. Keyboard

can helps user to input data computer. Secondly, mouse .These device are
easy to use,not very expensive to help .The funtion device help in moving
the cursor faster than the arrow keys that are present on the keyboard.

3. List types of operating systems, and examples of each. How does the 10 marks
device affect the functionality of an operating system?

Batch OS
Batch Os is the first operating system for second-generation computer.
This OS does not directly interact with the computer . Instead ,an operation
takes up similar jobs and groups them together into a batch ,and then
these batches are executed one by one based on first -come ,first ,serve
principle.Example of batch of OS is payroll system,bank statements,data
entry.

Distributed OS
A distributed OS is a recent advancement in the field of computer
technology and is utilized all over the word that too with greatpace. In a
distributed OS, various computersare connected throught a sigle
communication channel. These independent computers have their
memory unit and CPU and are known as loosely coupled systems.
Example of distributed OS is Locus.

Multitasking OS
The multitasking OS is also known s the time -sharing operating system
as each task is given some time so that all the tasks work efficiently. This
system provides access to a large number of users and each user gets the
time of CPU as they get in a single system .Example of Multitasking OS :
UNIX

Network OS
Network operating systems are the system s that run on a server and
manage all the networking funtons. They allows sharing of various
files,applications,printers,security,and other networking funtions over a
small network of computer like LAN or any other private network .For
example is Microssoft Windows server 2008,LINUX,etc

Real Time OS
Real Time OS is an operating systems serve real-time systems. These
operating systems are useful when many events occur in a short time
within certain deadlines,such as real-time simulations .Examples of Real
Time OS is Medical imaging system,robots.

Mobile OS
A mobile OS is an operating system s for smartphones ,tablets and PDA’
s . It is a platform on which other applications can run on mobile
devices.Example of mobile OS,Android OS,IOS,Symbian OS.

The operating system is perform several funtions,including resource

allocation and management. An opperating system manages

hardware resources such as CPU,memory and disk,space ,and

assigns these resources to running application based on their
priority .
