EXPLORE Activities - Week 2 – Leadership and Teams

Each week we will set you some work to do in your own time. It is best you do this before you attend
the week’s seminar if you possibly can. This week please could you do the following:

 Find a scholarly article (do NOT use the Minavand article listed below!) that is something to do
with “project management leadership” or “team dynamics”; prepare two paragraphs giving a
very brief overview of the article that you could read out in no more than 3 minutes.
 Bring it to the seminar and be ready to share your paragraphs or read them out to the seminar
group
 Make sure you complete it with, “Therefore I think this means…” and tell us why it is important.
 Think also about leaders who have influenced you positively – it could be someone famous or in
a public position but equally important would be people who have been significant in your life
such as religious/youth leaders, an amazing teacher, etc. The question is simple. What made
then special? How could that quality translate into the world of business and projects?
