The FOV accuracy should be within the standard value
in item 6.5.
Write the measured FOV accuracies into the recording
sheet.
Set the phantom in a sagittal plane and move it to
the center of the magnetic field.
Take scanograms in a coronal and transverse planes.
Check that the gradient of the phantom with respect
to the sagittal plane is less than +/-2 deg. Also
check that the distance between the center of the
phantom and that of the image is less than +/-10 mm.
Take a scanogram in the sagittal plane.
Make sure that the phantom rotation is less than +/-2

(1)Magnify two times the central portion of the phantom
image, in the transverse plane through the FOV phantom,
which has been taken at step (8) of item §.1 "Check of
FOV accuracy" (FOV adjustment for spin echo).
(2) Using the analysis program No. 42 “FOV c/k (FOV check
program, measure the intersecting angle between the lines
drawn between the centers of the right and left pin
patterns and top and bottom pin patterns in the phantom
image.
(3) The intersecting angle @ should be within the standard
value in item 6.5.
(4)Weite the intersecting angle @ into the recording sheet.
(5) Similarly, measure the intersecting angles @ in the first
echo images, of the sagittal and coronal planes, which
have been taken at steps (19) and (30) in item 5.1 "Check
of FOV accuracy", and write them into the recording
sheet.
se ASL LER-BMOgSS5.3 Signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio
5.3.1 Check of S/N ratio when QOD head receiver coil is used
(1)When the §/i ratio is checked using a phantom, it
depends upon the temperature of the phantom. If the
temperature ef a room where the phantom is stered
changes, it takes several hours until the changed room
temperature coincides with the phantom temperature.
Therefore, for check of the §/N ratio, an adjusting
phantom (Ni-solution phantoms) should be left for
several hours in the MRI room of which the temperature
is set in a range of 20°C to 25°C before the check is
to be done. the temperature of the MRI room should
preferably be 25°C. Keep the set room temperature as.
constant as possible. The temperature variation should
desirably be less than +/-1°c.
(2) Press the PATIENT DATA key to enter the patient name,
and set the patient orientation H, his posture $ and
coil No,
(3)Place the adjusting phantom (Ni-solution phantom,
small) on the head rest.
