Monitoring Specifications

 Architects are responsible for defining and detailing project specifications,

outlining the precise requirements for materials, construction methods, and
quality standards.
 They monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to these
specifications, conducting regular site inspections and reviews to verify that
the work aligns with the agreed-upon plans.
RA Bills (Running Account Bills)

 RA bills are interim payment requests submitted by contractors based on

the work completed during a specific period.
 Architects play a vital role in scrutinizing RA bills, verifying the accuracy of
the work claimed by the contractor and ensuring that it complies with the
project specifications and timelines.
Quality Control at Site

 Architects implement quality control measures to maintain high

construction standards. This involves inspecting materials, workmanship,
and construction processes.
 They address any deviations from the specifications promptly, ensuring that
the final built structure meets the required quality and safety standards.
EMD (Earnest Money Deposit)

 EMD is a financial security submitted by bidders to demonstrate their

seriousness and commitment to a project.
 Architects may advise the client on determining an appropriate EMD
amount, considering project size, complexity, and industry standards,
thereby contributing to the financial integrity of the procurement process.
Security Retention

 Security retention involves withholding a portion of the contract amount

until the project is completed satisfactorily.
 Architects assist in defining the criteria for releasing security retention,
ensuring that it aligns with project milestones and contractual agreements,
providing a mechanism to address any post-constructionissues.
SUMMARY

 Project oversight plays a critical role in monitoring construction projects,

ensuring quality, controlling costs, adhering to schedules, managing risks,
and maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory standards. It
contributes to the successful execution and delivery of a
construction project.
