This booklet contains all you need to
know to make the most of your Open
Day visit. To help you find your way
around, map reference numbers beside
building names indicate their location
on the campus map (pg 18).
ON ARRIVAL
When you arrive there’s no need to
register – you can simply head to your
first activity. You can get help and advice
from staff and students at any of our
welcome desks – in Rottenrow Gardens
and at the entrance to each Exhibition
Area.

sections (pgs 8-15), and alphabetically
in the timetable of mini lectures (pg 16).
In addition to mini lectures, there are
special exhibitions and tours.

campus is situated on a steep hill and

Please be aware of the following safety
matters during your visit:
■ If the fire alarm sounds, please
vacate the building immediately;
do not use the lifts and remain
outside until advised by a member
of University Security staff that you
may re-enter the building.
■ Please do not enter buildings or
offices which are not shown in the
programme as being open to the
public.
■ Please be aware that streets
around the campus are busy public
thoroughfares; traffic-controlled
pedestrian crossing points are the
safest way to cross.

WHAT’S ON – TOURS & VISITS
MEET THE STUDENTS & CAMPUS TOURS
Come along to our Meet the Students
point on level 4 of the Learning and
Teaching building (23) and find out from
our current students what it’s really like
to study here.
A great way to see the campus is to go
on a campus tour, led by our student
ambassadors. Tours take approximately
40 minutes and leave from the Meet the
Students point starting from 9.30am;
the last tour departs at 1.45pm.
STUDENTS’ UNION
The Students’ Union (23) will be open
from 9;30am, with lots going on. Come
along to find out more.
ACCOMMODATION
Visit the Student Accommodation stand
in the Learning and Teaching building
Level 3 (23). One of our student flats
on campus will be open to visitors,
and staff on the stand can give you
directions. Campus tours also pass
through the Student Village. There
will be presentations on Student
Accommodation, see pg 7.
LIBRARY
The Library in the Curran building (16) is
open to visitors and Library staff will be
on hand to offer guidance and answer
any questions. There is also a stand in
the Exhibition Area in the Learning and
Teaching building Level 3 (23) where you
can get more information.
STRATHCLYDE SPORT
Visit our Strathclyde Sport building
(17). The building includes a 25-metre
swimming pool, two sports halls, 180-
plus capacity fitness suite, cycling area,
dance studio, squash courts and four
consultation and treatment rooms. Tours
depart every half hour from 10am from
outside the main entrance (17). The last
tour departs at 2pm.
