2.5 CERTIFICATION
Copies of test certification and inspection reports will be available for
inspection prior to any use of gears as per requirement of M/S QICL.
1) The Person In charge from QICL shall ensure safe access to and egress from
site for all personnel and vehicles, and also ensure that the working area is
clear of all obstructions and Barricaded to allow the safe assembly and
working of the crane. QICL shall be responsible for necessary lighting
arrangement wherever required.
2) The Person In charge from QICL shall ensure that the area where the Trailer
is to stand/operate is firm and level and this it is capable of withstanding the
expected loadings that will be imposed upon it.
4) Any personnel not directly concerned with the loading & transport must be
kept out of loading (ie working) area. The working area should be cordoned
off with barrier tape, temporary fencing or otherwise secured, to prevent non
associated personnel from entering the lifting area.
5) The Supervisor of SCT shall make himself known to all relevant personnel on
site, and conduct a ‘Toolbox Talk’ prior to commencing operations. Site Risk
Assessment, which identified any site hazards should be made available and
brought to the attention of the lifting personnel.
2) Start time for work & end time of work shall be recorded.
4) Supervisor of SCT shall report progress of Job over phone & email to person
in Charge of QICL
2) Once the vessel is slightly loaded on the turntables, alignment of the Dolly
shall be checked.
4) The lashing & securing chains shall be used to bind the cargo to the saddle
of the Turntables.
5) The slings shall be removed thereafter from the vessel and the configuration
shall be ready for transport.
6) The transport shall be done with escort with transport permissions from FZE
authorities
4. No lifting equipment shall be put to use without a valid third party inspection
certificate and a copy of the certificate submitted to QICL safety department.
5. All manpower to wear PPE as per specified by QICL Safety Department.
SCT’s Supervisor is to ensure all manpower have the correct PPE prior to
entering the work area.
6. Prior to lifting & loading operations, QICL to cordon off the area for activities
with red/white safety tape and place appropriate warning signs. It is the
person in charge from QICL responsibility that no unauthorized persons enter
in the working area.
7. A Pre-lift meeting will take place prior to lifting operation and daily safety
toolbox talk to be conducted.
8. Should any manpower for any reason receive an injury while at site the
Supervisor should call immediately for emergency response and to person in
charge regarding the accident for further investigation. Only authorized and
qualified personnel to administer the first aid.
9. SCT will work to a site traffic plan to ensure that the area is free from
unauthorized vehicle and pedestrian.
10. Supervisor will assess the weather condition. No loading will be made during
bad weather or high winds.
11. All personnel involved in the operation should be present at work area and it
should be familiar to the assigned specific task.
12. Job Safety & Risk analysis shall be prepared for all tasks , risk mitigation
procedures shall be followed
9.0 CONCLUSION
1. This method statement has been prepared by SCT for the works of loading
transport and unloading activities of a Hydrogen MP Storage Vessel for QICL
and is not intended for use on any other project.
2. Site specific guidelines have been drawn to minimize risks and efficient use
of resources in the area.
3. The job shall follow the above mentioned sequence of works unless any
further notification is made.
