OPERATION TIMBANG

PLUS
OPT +
OBJECTIVE

To generate data on the nutrition situation of


children as input to

 community nutrition assessment


nutrition program planning
monitoring and evaluation of local nutrition
programs
USES OF OPT PLUS

• Help locate and identify pre-schoolers who are


wasted, stunted, underweight or overweight for
referral and/or immediate intervention
• Helps health and nutrition workers in developing a
barangay spot map and problem tree of
malnutrition
• Helps the community in determining the magnitude
and nature of malnutrition in their locality
• Nutrition program management become more
guided with the use of several nutrition indices.
MECHANICS

Done every first quarter of the year


Measurement of weight,length/height of 0-71 mos PSC
shall be done;
• House-to-house

• By clustering the children within the community

Growth assessment should cover at least 16.2 % of the


total population
