Early Years

Fundamental movement skills Continue to develop your balancing, riding and


ball skills.

Climbing and balance Go up steps and stairs or climb apparatus using


alternate feet.

Movement patterns Skip, hop and stand on one leg and hold a pose
for a game.

Large-muscle movements Use large muscle movements to wave flags


and streamers, paint and make marks.

Group activities Start taking part in some group activities which


you make up yourself or in teams.

Rhythm and movement patterns Increasingly be able to use and remember


sequences and patterns of movements which
are related to music or rhythm.

Matching physical skills to tasks For example, decide whether to crawl, walk or
run across a plank depending on its length and
width.
