EXCEL ASSIGNMENT 6
Create Pie Chart on Chart Sheet
A chart sheet shows a chart by itself in a separate sheet. It is still linked to the data in the
worksheet.
Create a new worksheet
1. In Cell A1 key: TOP FIVE POPULAR
2. In cell A2 key: ICE CREAM FLAVORS
3. In cell A3 key: (In Percent)
4. In cell A5 key: Flavor – format in Matura M7 font and Bold
5. In cell B5 key: % - format in Matura M7 font and Bold
6. Beginning in Cell A6 to A11 key the following:
Vanilla
Chocolate
Butter Pecan
Strawberry
Neapolitan
All Other
7. Beginning in Cell B6 to B11 key the following

8. Save the worksheet as Excel Assignment 6
9. You will now create a Chart sheet
a. Select cells A6 to B11
b. Click on the Insert Ribbon and select the Pie Chart
10. Select the whole chart by clicking in the white area. Selection handles will appear
11. Click the right mouse button in the Chart Area and choose Chart type
12. Choose Pie from the Category and select the first chart in the top row.
13. Click OK and the chart is in a pie shape.
14. Click the right mouse button in the Chart Area again and choose Chart options
a. In the Chart Options box. Make sure the Title tab is selected
b. In the Chart Title box, key Top Five Ice Cream Flavors
c. Click the Legend tab and choose Bottom as the placement
d. Click the Data Label tab and choose Percentage
e. Click OK
f. With the Chart still selected, click in the Title box area to the left of Flavors
g. Press Enter and key: By (Your Name)
h. Click outside the Title box
15. ReSave the worksheet with the Chart sheet as Excel Assignment 6
16. With the Chart 1 sheet active, Print the chart in Landscape
Print the worksheet with the graph in Landscape.
a. Go to Print and down to Settings and click the Orientation button and change to
Landscape
