    How to Create Baseline Summary Bar

    In this Lesson, I am going to show how to create Baseline Summary Bar and present
    it in the Gantt chart.

    At the first please go to the Gantt chart area and right-click for the “Bar” dialog box

    Then please push “ADD”, a new bar line added to your Bars, so please use to below
    setting

    • Re-Name new bar in the “Name” column.

    • Assign the time scale, for instance, “Primary baseline Bar”. Please look at the
    below picture

    • Modify the new Bar style for Bar’s Shape, color, pattern, and Row. It is
    important to select it properly!

    • On the Bar Setting use to checkmark “Show bar for grouping bonds”

    Notice: if you use to correct setting “filter” column change from “all activities” to
    “summary”

    • Final Step: select “Display Check mark”

    Now you can find the Summary Baseline Bar in your Gantt Chart

    Result: Now, if we collapse the WBS, we can present the Summary Duration
    Variance (note 1) by Baseline Summary Bar. Also, we can expand the project to show
    both activity and summary duration variance together (note 2).
