Flipped Lesson Plan
Flipped Lesson Plan
I. TOPIC:
Topic: Web Topic, Who, What, When, Where, Why, How
The goal of the lesson is that the students will be able to identify the web topic, the who,
the what, the when, the where, the why, and the how in a story and get good scores on
the formative assessment.
II. OBJECTIVES/STANDARDS:
Standard: CC.1.2.2.B
Objective: The students will be able to answer the questions of who, what, when, where,
why, and how from a text and identify key details from the text, 75% of the time. They
will answer these questions using the Gimkit formative assessment at the end of the
lesson.
IV. MATERIALS:
Curious George Book: Curious George Wash Your Hands by Margret Ray
(optional)
Canva Presentation
Gimkit
Curious George YouTube read aloud video
Google Form Assessment
A Chromebook for each student
V. ADAPTATIONS/PLAN MODIFICATIONS:
Students with special needs will have the opportunity to listen to the video reading from
another classroom, with less students and more focus on them. Students with special
needs can also have extra support from the teacher when trying to identify the lesson
objectives, and work on the part of the lesson that requires a partner with an adult.
VI. EVALUATION:
Formative: Google Form
VII. REFLECTION:
1. Write an assessment of the students’ performance and mastery in terms of
each stated objective.
The students were able to answer the questions of who, what, when, where, why,
and how from a text and identify key details from the text, 75% of the time.
2. Write a general self-evaluation including explanation for success or lack of
it. Discuss what changes might have produced better results and could be
used in subsequent lessons?
Overall, we believe that our lesson plan was successful in getting our students to
understand the curriculum because they got high scores on the Gimkit game and
high scores on the google form formative assessment. To get better results in the
future, we could try adding another interactive game to our lesson plan, so the
students get even more practice. We could also try reading the story aloud
ourselves if our students lose focus during the video reading.
