Instructions Photo Demonstration

1. Gather materials (DIY Tracheostomy


Tube):
a) Regular spray bottle
b) Heavy duty water hose
c) Clear aquarium hose

2. Remove the spray portion to the main


bottle

3. Create a square line around the mouth


of the spray bottle, and cut it to create a
tracheostomy plate. Create a vertical
opening on each side of the
tracheostomy plate for the
tracheostomy tie.

4. Cut a heavy-duty hose about 3inches to


serve as the tracheostomy tube. Attach
the hose behind the opening of the
tracheostomy plate. Secure the plate
and tube by applying a heavy duty glue
(Mighty Bond)
5. For the detachable cannula of the
tracheostomy tube, fold a 1/4th sheet of
paper crosswise into half an inch, roll it
using a pen.
6. Cut the aquarium hose about 5 inches.
7. Attach the folded sheet of paper on the
upper portion of the hose. Secure both
together using an adhesive tape.
8. Connect the detachable cannula inside
the tracheostomy tube.

Mask):
2. Regular soda bottle (1.5L)
3. Clear aquarium hose
4. Cut the neck of the soda bottle, which
will serve as the tracheostomy mask, cut
the sharp edges.
5. Cut out an ear-like shape on both sides
for the tracheostomy mask tie. Create a
vertical holes on both ears.
6. On the protective cap of the soda
bottle, create a hole for the insertion of
the improvised airway tube.

7. Connect the aquarium hose to the hole


of the bottle cap. Secure them together
with a heavy-duty glue

1. Gather materials (DIY Bag-valve Mask):


a) Regular soda bottle (1.5L)
b) Large funnel
2. Mark the neck of the funnel with the
diameter of the soda bottle’s mouth,
and cut a hole for the insertion of the
improvised bag.

3. Insert the mouth of the soda bottle to


the cut neck of the funnel. Secure them
together using a heavy duty glue
