The document provides instructions for creating improvised medical devices including a tracheostomy tube, tracheostomy mask, and bag-valve mask using common household items like spray bottles, hoses, and soda bottles. The instructions include cutting and shaping the materials and attaching components together to form working devices for emergency airway management or ventilation.

Tube): a) Regular spray bottle b) Heavy duty water hose c) Clear aquarium hose
2. Remove the spray portion to the main
bottle
3. Create a square line around the mouth
of the spray bottle, and cut it to create a tracheostomy plate. Create a vertical opening on each side of the tracheostomy plate for the tracheostomy tie.
4. Cut a heavy-duty hose about 3inches to
serve as the tracheostomy tube. Attach the hose behind the opening of the tracheostomy plate. Secure the plate and tube by applying a heavy duty glue (Mighty Bond) 5. For the detachable cannula of the tracheostomy tube, fold a 1/4th sheet of paper crosswise into half an inch, roll it using a pen. 6. Cut the aquarium hose about 5 inches. 7. Attach the folded sheet of paper on the upper portion of the hose. Secure both together using an adhesive tape. 8. Connect the detachable cannula inside the tracheostomy tube.
1. Gather materials (DIY Tracheostomy
Mask): 2. Regular soda bottle (1.5L) 3. Clear aquarium hose 4. Cut the neck of the soda bottle, which will serve as the tracheostomy mask, cut the sharp edges. 5. Cut out an ear-like shape on both sides for the tracheostomy mask tie. Create a vertical holes on both ears. 6. On the protective cap of the soda bottle, create a hole for the insertion of the improvised airway tube.
7. Connect the aquarium hose to the hole
of the bottle cap. Secure them together with a heavy-duty glue
1. Gather materials (DIY Bag-valve Mask):
a) Regular soda bottle (1.5L) b) Large funnel 2. Mark the neck of the funnel with the diameter of the soda bottle’s mouth, and cut a hole for the insertion of the improvised bag.
3. Insert the mouth of the soda bottle to
the cut neck of the funnel. Secure them together using a heavy duty glue
