Nosedive Reaction

My Reaction of the Black Mirror episode “Nosedive”. It does a really good job of getting the

point across of how much technology controls our lives. However, It also proves the point that

with technology we ignore actual emotions and become complete ignorant D-bags, as they prove

with there anger inducing laughs and there very robotic, fake conversations that are only to get a

better “rating”. As much as most of the characters except the trucker lady and Ryan, annoy me I

got to give the director they did a job at doing that and getting the point across.

What do I think of the main character Lacie? Going to be completely honest I strongly dislike

her even though at the end she realizes that it’s a harmful and mean app its to late to redeem

herself because throughout the hole show she is so consistently an ignorant bastard of a person

that there’s no way I could possibly like her. If this app was real there’s no chance in hell I would

use it because the only apps I use are for entertainment and not for rating people based on silly

interactions between people I don’t even know. Another reason besides useability is its kind of

stupid to rate somebody through an app as well as it doesn’t have the same satisfaction as telling

someone to there face, if there nice or if you hate there guts.

This episode relates to the current day world because in a different way most people tend to

“rate” each other by there social media account, yes it a bit more indirect but it serves the same

point. I didn’t find any thing disturbing necessarily, but I did find some things surprising. Mostly
just how distracted and involved we got with the app that’s not a real way of communicating or

interacting. Also, the fact that most people in their world turned into a inconsiderate A-hole.
