EXERCISE 2 (75 minutes) (7 points)

The connecting rod (4) is articulated at points A, B and C and connected to the sliders (3), (5) and (6) respectively.
The slieder (3) slides over the crank (2),. The other two sliders (5) and (6), slide over fixed straight guides. The velocity
of the slider (6) is 𝑣𝐶 = 1𝑚/𝑠 and its acceleration is 𝑎𝐶 = 4𝑚/𝑠 2 , both in the sense given. It is asked:

a) Locate the absolute instantaneous center of rotation of the connecting rod (4): I14. (0.5 points)
b) Obtain the relative velocity of point A in the sliding of (3) over (2) and the angular velocities 𝜔2 y 𝜔4 . (2
points)
c) Obtain the relative acceleration of points A in its sliding of (3) over (2) and the angular accelerations 𝛼2 and
𝛼4
d) Calculate the torque that must be applied on link (2) to guarantee the equilibrium if a force of 100 N is acting
on point C in the same direction and sense as its velocity.
e) The equivalent inertia force of the connecting rod (4) of mass m4 = 3kg, and moment of inertia with respect
to its center of mass IB = 0.25 kg·m2. (1.5 points)
