Dear School Administrator:

It is my pleasure to recommend Noor Awaidah for a teaching position. I served as

Noor’s field instructor during her student teaching semester.

Noor’s background in Speech and Debate, including as a coach for youth, brings a
unique perspective to her teaching. Not only does she know how to use her voice
and body language to command attention, but she also has valuable experience
supporting student writers with the entire writing process. During a visit to her
classroom in October, I recorded the following in my notes: “Noor was engaged
and responsive during independent worktime. She circulated the classroom and
gave focused individual attention to students, kneeling next to them to be at eye
level.” Based on my observations of the strong relationships she formed with
students in just 14 weeks of student teaching, I can only imagine how many
students will flock to her future classroom for lunchtime chats and club meetings.
She stands out among novice teachers for the warmth and sense of humor she is
comfortable enough to share with her students.

I was also impressed with the clear and visually appealing instructional materials
Noor prepared for her English 1 Honors courses. She gained experience adapting
required curriculum to meet the needs of her students and thrived in the
collaborative relationship she developed with her mentor teacher. In teaching
several sections of the same course, Noor demonstrated strong reflection skills to
make pacing adjustments and improve her instructional clarity throughout the
school day.

In conclusion, I recommend Noor Awaidah for an English Language Arts teaching

position. She will be a positive addition to any school community.
