A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE MUNICIPAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND
MANAGEMENT (MDRRM) EARTHQUAKE CONTINGENCY PLAN IN THE
MUNICIPALITY OF PURA

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 10121, otherwise known as the “Philippine Disaster Risk
Reduction and Management Act of 2010” empowers Local Government Units to provide
mitigating and preventive programs, prepare for and earnestly respond to
disaster/calamities/crisis/complex emergencies, and attend to relief and rehabilitation work
through a contingency plan;

WHEREAS, the Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) with
local officials, sector representatives, and other stakeholders, has formulated a contingency plan
consistent with the prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, relief and rehabilitation
during and after an earthquake;

WHEREAS, the presence of a contingency plan will enable the municipality to prepare
and to respond timely, effectively and appropriately during and after an earthquake that might
endanger the general public and/or the environment;

NOW THEREFORE, on unanimous motion by the members of the Sangguniang Bayan,

IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED to adopt the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
(MDRRM) Earthquake Contingency Plan in the Municipality of Pura;

RESOLVED FURTHER, to furnish copy of this resolution to all person, agencies and
entities concerned.
