Dear Parents/Carers
It was lovely to meet some new families at our Open day event. There were many comments on the exciting Maths Morning and the beautiful autumn displays around school. Thank you to parents and governors who came to support this event. It is a great opportunity to come and see the school in action. Many parents came to support the Picnic Lunchtime event on Friday and shared books with their children despite the cooler weather! There has been some sad news this week as Sue Lafford has decided it is time to reduce her work commitments and will be retiring from her role as Lunchtime Supervisor on Friday 2nd December 2011. Sue has been a member of staff for many years here at St Christophers and her leaving will mark the end of an era. Details about a celebration to mark Sues long service at the school will follow shortly.

Once again this year, St Christophers will be participating in Operation Christmas Child please see leaflet enclosed with ideas such as tennis ball, skipping rope, baseball hat, small football, inflatable beach ball, stop watch, sweat bands, swim goggles, toy medals or some other sports items that would bring a smile to a child! You could decorate your shoebox with sporty stickers, drawings or make your own Olympic-themed wrapping paper and add a message stating the shoebox has come from the home of the next Olympics and that you hope they enjoy the items in their box! WHOLE SCHOOL VISIT TO THE PANTOMIME (. OH NO IT ISNT !!!)

On Thursday 8th December 2011 we will be making our annual visit to the Pantomime. Once again, we will be going to The Theatre, Chipping Norton, where we will make up almost the entire audience! The production this year is Ali Baba & the 40 Thieves and I am sure that all the children who have previously attended our pantomime visits will agree that this is a wonderful treat, and a lovely way to get into the Christmas Spirit! We will leave school promptly after morning registration. The bus will leave Chipping Norton at 12.30pm, returning to school for a packed lunch before the afternoon session, weather and traffic dependant. All children will, therefore, need to bring a packed lunch into school this day as school dinners will not be available. As usual, we have booked a few extra seats in case you want to join us and bring siblings. These seats will be offered on a first-come, first served, basis please complete the form attached. We have managed to keep the cost at 12.00 each for the ticket and transport. Ice cream (vanilla tub) will also be available at a cost of 2.00 which must be pre-ordered. So we can allocate seats, we would be grateful if you could return the reply by Friday 18th November 2011 - Thank you.
