Name of Activity: UN Me
Background
The only institution officially mentioned in the Convention on the Rights of the Child as a source
of professional support and advice is UNICEF, the UN agency tasked with defending the rights of
all children, everywhere, especially the most disadvantaged. Every child in the Region deserves
a fair chance to be healthy, educated, protected, and included, and UNICEF is dedicated to
ensuring that. They help children in humanitarian emergencies and lessen the effects of natural
disasters. They offer credible proof of what serves children's interests.
Objectives
1. Ensure that all children study, including by setting up temporary learning centers and offering
educational resources like internet access and smartphones.
2. Ensure that everyone has access to food and medical care. They make a lot of effort to
make vaccines accessible and cheap for all children.
3. Children's and young people's mental health deserves support and protection. They are
dedicated to ending childhood abuse, gender-based violence, and neglect.
4. Expanding access to sanitary conditions and cleanliness, as well as combating
environmental harm and climate change.
5. Reverse the growth in child poverty; they work to ensure an inclusive recovery for everyone
because they think that no kid should have to endure hunger, fear, or homelessness.
6. Children and their families experiencing violence, tragedy, and displacement should be
protected and supported.
The most vulnerable children—those who have experienced war, natural disasters, extreme
poverty, all types of abuse and exploitation, and those who are disabled—are given special care
by UNICEF. In times of crisis, UNICEF steps in to protect children's rights.
