Surface Preparation
Standards
1) As a Ɵle adhesive:
Ž Substrates should be clean and free from dust or any

Ž It is recommended that surfaces are in dry condi on
before ling. However, ProLast can be applied on
humid substrates.
2) As a Ɵle grout:
Ž Joint surfaces should clean and free from dust or any
contamina on.
Ž Ensure that the joint widths are not less than 1.5 mm.
Ž Joints should be cleaned to the full thickness of the
le or to a minimum depth of 2/3 of the le thickness.
Ž Joints should be dry before grout filling.
Mixing
Drill mixer fi ed with a suitable paddle should be used
for mixing. Add the en re content of the hardener to the
coloured base, taking care that the bo om and sides of
the hardener pack are thoroughly scraped.
Start mixing with low speed (300 - 400 rpm) for a
minimum of 3 minutes un l a uniform lumps-free paste
is obtained.
Manual mixing is not allowed.
Placing and Finishing
1) As a Ɵle adhesive:
Spread the mixed adhesive to the substrate using a
notched trowel. Apply with pressure a 1 to 2 mm coat
with pressure using the flat face of the notched trowel
onto the substrate.
Comb diagonally addi onal mixed adhesive up to a 3
mm total maximum thickness with the notched side of
the notched trowel. Do not apply large areas of adhesive
that cannot be covered within the open wet me of the
adhesive.
1) As a Ɵle grout:
Introduce the mixed paste to the prepared joints using
a proper rubber float or stainless steel scraper to fill
the joints completely with ProLast. Remove the excess
material by moving the float or the scraper diagonally
over the surface.
It is recommended to remove the excess material from
the le surfaces before the material fully cures to avoid
any difficulty in cleaning the surfaces. All excess material
should be cleaned using wet sponge within 30 minutes
a er applica on of ProLast at 25˚C.
Working Conditions
The typical ambient temperature for the applica on
of ProLast is between 10 - 27˚C. Lower temperatures
will make the material denser and more difficult
for applica on, while at higher temperatures it is
recommended to apply the product as fast as possible as
this will reduce the pot life and working me of the mixed
material.
Note: At low temperature condiƟons, it is recommended
to precondiƟon the materials at 21˚C for 24 hours prior to
the applicaƟon.
Cleaning
Cleaning should be commenced immediately using clean
water before the grout reaches ini al se ng. A er ini al
set, product may be removed either by using solvent or
by mechanical means but with great diffi culty.
Packaging
ProLast is available in 3 kg and 6 kg pack.
Yield
When used as a le adhesive, each 3 kg pack will cover
1.9 m2 at 1.0 mm thickness. When used as a le grout,
the approximate yield of the grout can be calculated as
per the following equa on:

Note: Grout yield is subject to ± 15% tolerance.
Storage
ProLast has a shelf life of 12 months from date of
manufacture if stored at temperatures between 8°C and
35°C in original unopened pack.
If these condi ons are exceeded, DCP Technical
Department should be contacted for advice.
