PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. Title of the Program/Activity: World Quest: An International Quiz Bee

II. Short Introduction/description of the Program/Activity:

In celebration of Vision-Mission Week 2023-2024, the Internationalization and

External Affairs will facilitate a Quiz Bee entitled “World Quest: An
International Quiz Bee” which is in line with the mission of
“Internationalization”. It would be a global knowledge competition designed to
bring together the global minds across the students of LPU. Participants will
embark on an exciting journey of intellectual discovery, showcasing their
expertise in a wide range of subjects and cultures. This event aims to foster
cross-cultural understanding and celebrate the diversity of knowledge that
spans the globe.

I. Statement of Objectives:

1. To promote one of the missions of LPU Cavite that is centered on

internationalization and being global citizens;

2. To encourage Lyceans to learn about and appreciate the cultural diversity

of the world through questions that span various countries and traditions;

3. To test and expand the knowledge base of Lyceans by challenging them

with thought-provoking questions focused on global facts, issues, cultures,
and others.

 IV. Manner of Implementation:

The quiz bee will consist of multiple-choice questions and short-answer questions. The
questions will cover a wide range of topics, including history, geography, culture, and
current events. There will be 3 rounds, specifically, the easy round, the medium round,
and the hard round. Questions in the easy round will be worth 1 point each and it will be
composed of multiple-choice type of questions. Questions in the medium round will be
worth 3 points and it will be composed of multiple-choice and short-answer questions.
Lastly, the hard round questions will be worth 5 points each and it will be composed of
only short-answer questions. The team with the most points at the end of the hard round
will be declared as the World Quest Champions. The champion, 1 st-runner up, and 2nd-
runner up will be given certificates of recognition while all the participants will be given
certificates of participation.

V. Budget Specification:

Prize for Grand Winner - P2,000

Prize for 1st Runner Up - P1,000
Prize for 2nd Runner Up - P500
Food for Working Committee - P1,000
Total - P4,500

A QR Code will be shown on the screen which will direct them to the evaluation link.

VIII. Promotional Tool:

The event posters will be posted on the LPU Cavite Facebook Page and the IEA
Facebook page. A memorandum will be sent out to the Deans and Headmaster for their
representatives.

 IX. Other pertinent details/guidelines/mechanics and the likes of the
program/activity:

MECHANICS
1. Each college and the international school must send one group representative
with three (3) members. The names of the representatives must be sent to the
IEA office before the day of the event.
2. Each group must be in the venue 30 minutes before the start of the event for
registration and other preparations.
3. Each group will be given whiteboards, markers, and erasers to write their
answers.
4. The questions will be flashed on the screen. The quiz master will also read the
questions twice after which the contestants must write their answers on their
board. Once the timer is up, the contestants must raise their boards and they
may not change their answers anymore. Late answers will not be accepted.
5. There will be an easy, medium, and hard round. The easy round shall consist of
15 questions. The medium round shall consist of 10 questions. The hard round
shall consist of 5 questions.
6. There will be a time limit for each question. Questions in the easy round should
be answered within 20 seconds. Questions in the medium round should be
answered within 30 seconds. Lastly, questions in the hard round should be
answered within 1 minute only.
7. In case of a tie at the end of the hard round, another question will be given.
8. Contestants who will be caught cheating will be automatically disqualified.
