2: Allah's relationship with his created world


Quran References

1. Creation and Sustenance: "It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and

whatever is between them in six days, then He established Himself on the Throne.

You have no protector or intercessor besides Him. Will you not reflect?" (Quran 32:4)

2. Guidance and Mercy: "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us

and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower." (Quran 3:8)

3. Sustenance and Provision: "And there is no creature on the earth but that upon

Allah is its provision, and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage. All is in

a clear register." (Quran 11:6)

4. Control over Life and Death: "It is Allah who created death and life to test you [as

to] which of you is best in deed..." (Quran 67:2)

5. Forgiveness and Repentance: "And My Mercy encompasses all things." (Quran

7:156)

6. Answering Supplications: "And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I

am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me."

(Quran 2:186)

7. Knowledge and Wisdom: "And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows

them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls

but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no

moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record." (Quran 6:59)

8. Sovereignty and Control: "Say, 'O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty
to whom You will, and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor

whom You will, and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed,

You are over all things competent.'" (Quran 3:26)

9. Judgment and Justice: "And Allah judges with truth, while those they invoke besides

Him judge not with anything. Indeed, Allah, He is the Hearing, the Seeing." (Quran

40:20)

10. Testing and Trial: "Do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not

yet come to you as came to those who passed away before you? They were touched

by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who

believed with him said, 'When is the help of Allah?' Unquestionably, the help of Allah

is near." (Quran 2:214)
