CULTURE
Tamil Brahmin culture is the culture of the Brahmins who consider their
mother tongue to be Tamil, who commonly living in Tamil Nadu, and in
places of their nearing states like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and
Karnataka. Tamil Brahmins have mainly two categories Iyer’s and
Iyengar’s. Both are similar but have differences in certain cultures and
believes.
Usually they used to live as a joint family , it is very hard to find a nuclear
family among brahmins who lives in agraharams.
Tamil Brahmin follows a lot of superstitions and believes which are part
of their daily life which started from janm(Birth) of a child to his
maran(death).For example pregnant women are not allowed to climb
hills or cross the river, they didn't even used to get out of the house or
attend family functions or anything. They used to receive a lot of gifs
bangles and all from their husbands family and when they reach seven
months they should stay separate from their husband and go to their
own house and come back after their delivery with the baby. Also Women
at the point of puberty is a;so celebrated through fest and functions.
Men’s Clothing
Men wear only white cloth either as veshti (used for lower
half of the body) or as angavastram (used for upper half of
the body).Veshti can be worn in two styles either plain,
similar to the veshti worn by all castes, or the special
panchakachham, worn only by married men. The
panchakaccham, in older times, symbolised a married
man.

other than the real saree called
madisar

Brahmin kids used to wear pattu
paavada before their puberty.
Brahmin Wedding
The Tamil Brahmin wedding ceremony is usually
conducted by a priest and is full of rituals and traditions
that are meant to bless the newlyweds.
The bride and groom typically wear traditional Indian
clothing, and the bride may wear a sari with traditional
gold jewellery. The wedding ceremony usually takes place
in a temple, and the reception is often held in a banquet
hall.
Tamil Brahmin wedding costumes are
pretty simple ,they usually wear their
traditional dress for their wedding
too i.e. madisar and veshti.
Though their costumes are perty
simple but the rituals that they
perform during the wedding is not
that simple. The wedding mainly
have 23 rituals.

Lai Thai patterns are intricate and ornate, often

This pattern is mainly floral designs
that incorporates flower motifs, and it
is commonly seen on traditional Thai
clothing.
Krajang
Krajang patterns typically consist of interlocking
diamond shapes, representing the bond between
heaven and earth.
Chada
Chada patterns often feature stylized
crowns or headgear motifs, adding a
regal touch to the dress.

Sarong
Sarongs in Thailand can have various patterns,
including floral, animal, or geometric designs.
