Guitar Techniques for Success

Mastering guitar techniques doesn’t have to be hard for beginners. In fact being able to go through the
process can actually help boost one’s excitement in acquiring the skill. Since the main parts involved in
playing the guitar are the left and right hand, it’s only fitting to examine them closely and see how they’re
used in order to produce the right sound. As the person goes along with the training, s/he will realize how
one hand is used more frequently than the other. But it really depends on the person as to which hand is
more preferable, and it is perfectly acceptable as long as both hands are used in playing guitar.

In learning the different types of guitar techniques, you will notice that there are certain numbers
assigned for each finger. The left hand is the one used here, and the said numberings are made for the
execution of chord fingering and finger picking techniques. The assignment of numbers is as follows: 1 for
the index finger, 2 for middle finger, 3 for the ring finger and 4 for the pinky. Meanwhile, the right hand is
used for strumming. Given these guidelines, you can now follow the numbering in guitar chords tabs since
it makes chord production and transition easier especially for beginners.

Furthermore, as a learner of guitar techniques you have to buy a chord manual or download chord
charts from the net. The chords that are perfect for beginners are G7, D major and A major. In producing
the D chord, you will have to use the first four strings. The strings are numbered such that the thinnest is
the first string while the thickest is the sixth string.
