Competitiveness

There are extreme competitors in the food and beverage industry. Food And Beverage Industry is one
of the leading companies in this competitive industry with a number of strong rivals such as Unilever,
Kraft foods and Group DANONE. Food And Beverage Industry is working well in this plant for last
150 years. Every business has a certain market share. This rivalry is not only limited to product price
but also to quality, innovation and variation. Every industry strives hard to maintain its market share.
However, competition from other businesses with the Food And Beverage Industry is quite high.
Threat of new entrants
There are a number of barriers to brand new entrants in the consumer food market. Only a few entrants
will be successful in this industry as it takes time to understand consumer needs while recent
competitors are aware of this and have progressed over time with consumer commitment to their
products. The threat of new entrants into the food and beverage industry is low because it has a relatively
large distribution network worldwide with a dominant reputation.
Bargaining power of suppliers
In the food and beverage market, the food and beverage industry owes the largest market share, which
needs a higher number of supply chains. In response, the Food And Beverage Industry is also concerned
about its providers as it believes in long-term relationships.
Bargaining power of buyers
Due to the great competition, the bargaining power of buyers is high. Switching costs are relatively low
for consumers because many companies sell a variety of comparable items. This seems like a big risk
for any company. That's why Food And Beverage Industry cares about the satisfaction of its clients.
This has actually led Food And Beverage Industry to be one of the loyal companies in the eyes of its
customers.
The threat of substitutes
There is a high risk of substitution as there are substitutes for some Nestlé items such as boiled water
and pasteurized milk. In fact, there have also been claims that some of its items are unsafe, leading to
reduced sales. Thus, the Food And Beverage Industry began to emphasize the health benefits of its
products in order to cope with the alternatives.
Competitive analysis
In fact, it has become the second largest food and beverage market in Western Europe with a market
share of about 8.6%, just 0.3 points behind the food and beverage industry. The Food And Beverage
Industry attracts regional clients with the low price of the product and the regional taste of the products
maintains its first place in the global market. The food and beverage industry has about 280,000
employees and operates in more than 197 countries worldwide, outperforming the competition i.e. other
industries in many areas.
