New AIRBUS SOPS and briefings, have been included in this guide.

• MCDU programming
The AIRBUS most used manuals by the pilot are: FCOM, FCTM and QRH
• FCOM (Flight Crew Operating Manual): You can find the following information
inside it:
o Systems description
o Limitations
▪ To be known with NO EXCUSES, since most of these limitations are
NOT indicated by any instrument.
o Performance
The AIRBUS most used manuals by the pilot are: FCOM, FCTM and QRH
• FCTM (Flight Crew Techniques Manual): You can find the following information:
• QRH (Quick Reference Handbook): You can find the following information:
Bear in mind that this guide is oriented for a MCC student, not for a Type Rating. So,
some steps and notes are intentionally omitted to adapt the procedure to the course
objectives.
For the MCC course, in GTA we are delivering STD AIRBUS philosophy for tasksharing
PF/PM. So, PF will taxi and do all the PF steps indicated in the QRH expanded list, even
if he/she flies as CM-2 (co-pilot)
1. You should start studying every individual step of the procedure, as it is described
in the FCOM – PRO – NOR – SOPs. Some notes, cautions and warning may be
found within these steps, to enhance a safer operation. It will help if you identify
and locate every control or switch on the affected panel, so you can use a
cockpit poster, with the overhead, lateral and pedestal panels. Observe that PF
has some associated steps, which are different from PM steps.
2. Then, study the applicable flows, also to be found in FCOM – PRO – NOR – SOPs,
which gather some of these steps into an easy to follow sequence of actions.
3. Next, you may use the FCOM – PRO – NOR – TSK expanded list to have a general
view of all the steps and the tasksharing for every procedure.
Let´s see FCOM SOPs in detail. Items marked by asterisks (*) are the only steps to be
completed after a transit stop without flight crew change. Otherwise, the new flight
crew performs all the items.
A transit stop occurs, when the same crew is going to fly the next sector in the same
airplane. So, some steps may be omitted.
You can observe a reduced view of the expanded list to the right of the page,
highlighting in associated colour (PF blue, PM green, BOTH brown), the steps shown in
every page.

This is the flow (sequence of actions), to be followed during the cockpit preparation.
You start with overhead panel flow (1), then center instrument panel (2), Pedestal (3),
MCDU preparation (4), and when both pilots are seated, Glareshield (5) to finish with
Lateral consoles and CM1/CM2 panels (6).

After retracting flaps, PM automatically performs as a flow (same as after take-off):
OFF
FLY: includes control of the A/C, such as PITCH, ROLL, SPEED, and thrust power, flaps
configuration, etc.
1 NAV: includes SID or Engine out SID, make sure the AC/C is going where you intend to.
COM: call ATC if necessary PAN-PAN or MAYDAY, with SIMPLE intentions, such as your planned
ALT and HDG. Deviation callouts are included.
PM is to check and announce any important deviations.
Use A/P if possible, but determine and select the appropriate level of automation that can include
2 manual flight Understand the operational effect of the selected level of automation.
The flight crew must confirm the operational effect of all actions on the FCU, or on the MCDU,
3 via a crosscheck of the corresponding annunciation or data on the PFD and on the ND. That is ,
touch any control, read FMA and understand the effects of your actions.
If the aircraft does not follow the desired vertical or lateral flight path, or the selected
4 targets, the flight crew must immediately take appropriate or required actions, such as disconnect
A/P and take controls and take the A/C to the appropriate ALT / HDG / SPEED.
