The below procedures fully conform to the requirements of the USCG Code of Federal
Regulations [CFR) 33, Part 155 and is applicable to all OJS managed vessels.
Below requirements must be updated prior to commencement of each bunker transfer
operation.

33 CFR 155.750 Requirements:


.750(a)(1) The following oil products are transferred to / from / within the vessel:

.750(a)(2)(ii) The vessel has segregated ballast tanks.
.750(a)(2)(iii) This vessel is equipped with fixed discharge containments with a
capacity of _____________ around and underneath each tank header,
vent, overflow and manifold.
After completion of transfer and as needed, the containment is
emptied manually by portable grounded pneumatic driven pump into

.750(a)(5) The Duty deck crew will tend the vessel’s mooring lines during
bunker transfer operation in accordance with the Duty Deck Officer
or Chief Officer orders.

Procedures for communication between vessel’s personnel and
bunker barge / shore personnel (voice, VHF channel etc.) are as
follows:

.750(a)(7) Regular soundings will be taken until ________% tank capacity is


reached then the vessel’s personnel will inform the bunker barge /
shore personnel to slow down transfer rate for topping off in
accordance with mutual agreement stated in ENG CL 16 – “Bunker
Safety Checklist”.
Transfer will cease when ______% capacity is reached. Reference
shall be given to prepared ENG CL 13 – “Bunker Plan”
.750(a)(8) The _____ Engineer will double check each valve to confirm it is
properly closed and secured in closed position upon completion of
bunkering.
.750(a)(9) If accidental discharge of oil into the water occurs during bunker
transfer, the Master will immediately notify relevant authorities:
In US waters – immediately contact the USCG Response Centre by
VHF on Channel 16 and / or via phone on 1-800-424-8802.
For other operating areas / ports, spill / emergency notification
contact details must be indicated within CP CL 03 – “Port Emergency
Contact List” which is required to be prepared by the Master / C/O
for each port of call and kept together with this form.
