grace and guidance on all of us, so that the authors can produce this Industrial Work Practices
report.
However, the authors have tried their best to ensure the perfection of the preparation
of this report, both from the results of teaching and learning activities at school, as well as in

 CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

Background
PKL or the abbreviation for Field Work Practice is an implementation of the learning that
has been obtained at school in a direct work environment. PKL is one of the mandatory
activities that students must carry out.
Vocational school PKL is carried out by students within a time period determined by
each school. The fastest period is 3 months, and the longest period is 6 months. With this
period of time, it is hoped that students can train and hone their skills to improve their
knowledge and skills.
PKL is an effective method for preparing ourselves for the world of work, because we
can apply learning from school and face the conditions of the work environment directly, so
that when we have completed the vocational school level, we will already have the provisions
to go to work.

Purpose Of Objective
Industrial Work Practices ( Prakerin ) is a system of learning is done outside of
Teaching Learning and carried out at the company / industry or agencies that have been
determined . In general , the implementation of the Industrial Work Practices program aimed
to improve the knowledge and skills of students according to their field , settling down to real
work situations , and so forth .

Implementation of Industrial Work Practices ( Prakerin ) at SMK aims to :

1. Produce a quality workforce , the workforce has a level of knowledge and skills in
accordance with the demands of the working world .
2. Strengthening the compatibility between vocational schools and the world of work .
3. Improve process efficiency and effectiveness of education and training .
4. Provide recognition of work experience as part of the educational process .

Benefits of Prakerin for Agencies (DU/DI):

1. Can be quickly completed the implementation of tasks related to office work
2. Can help the work carried out by a company / agency and ease the burden
3. Getting temporary labor
4. Support government education programs

General Description
The Communication and Information Service is the implementing element of Government
Affairs in the field of Communication and Informatics, Government Affairs in the Field of
Statistics and Government Affairs in the Field of Coding which are regional authorities.

In carrying out the main duties, the Communication and Information Service has the
following functions:
1. Preparation of planning for Government Affairs in the field of Communication and
Information, Government Affairs in the field of Statistics and Government Affairs in
the field of Coding which is the authority of the Regions and assistance tasks given to
the District;
2. Formulation of technical policies for Government Affairs in the field of
Communication and Informatics, Government Affairs in the field of Statistics and
Government Affairs in the field of Coding which are the authority of the Regions and
assistance duties given to the Districts;
3. Implementation of Government Affairs and general services Government Affairs in
the field of Communication and Information, Government Affairs in the field of
Statistics and Government Affairs in the field of Coding which are the authority of the
Regions and assistance duties given to the District;
4. Guidance, coordination, control and facilitation of the implementation of Government
Affairs activities in the field of Communication and Information, Government Affairs

CONCLUSION
Conclusion
During the Field Work Practice (PKL) at the Communication and Informatics Office,
the authors also gained a lot of valuable knowledge and experience. So that the compiler
understands, that in the real world of work.
After carrying out Work Practices at the Communication and Informatics Office, so
many experiences have been gained that have not been obtained from school. Through Field
Work Practice (PKL) which can further open your mind to new things and broad information,
so that it can add broader insights.
Field Work Practice (PKL) itself implies two-way or two-sided education, namely
education inside and outside school. The purpose of PKL itself is to create students who have
a high work ethic and have sufficient skills and abilities to be able to go directly to the
community.
Field Work Practice (PKL) will run well if all elements support each other, such as
teachers, students, and employees. PKL is very important considering that nowadays the
world of work needs a professionally skilled workforce. And the authors believe that
education in Sidoarjo Regency will be more advanced if this program is really well
implemented and with effort.
Suggestion
 Learning communication technology to be further improved
